introductions

hi! this is my first pickup, and i'm glad I got it!
used to have a jeep wrangler...lifted, big tires, everything you name it....put a lot of money into it. then came a family.
got a car that had better gas mileage, and better seating, but was NOT me. didn't fit my personality. I won't say what it was for sake of embarrassment. I missed having a 4x4. the jeep was amazing....but really wasn't great on gas after the mods, and it wasn't family friendly. wasn't practical.
but then I decided one day, "I need a truck!"
I was doing yard work one weekend, and had a bunch of branches and shrubs and just junk I needed to get rid of. tired of waiting for a friend with a truck to help me out, and always felt bad (even though I would give him beer)
so I just decided to get a truck of my own. and the Tacoma looked like a good fit!
I test drove a F150, and the Tacoma. the f150 was nice...but was nice...but the 36 gallon gas tank scared me. and it didn't come with a bedliner. and was just kinda boring inside.
test drove the Tacoma, and I fell it love with it! had a lot of bells and whistles for less than the f150!
so low and behold, I now have a truck! magnetic gray sr5 4x4! double cab, long bed!
can't wait to get to work!

Welcome! and i think your going to wish you got the DC short bed, if you were in a moded jeep, it’s only time till you mod the taco for odd roading, and the SB is long enough IMHO.

edit: i also agree on color, i kinda wish mine was MGM. but also got a good deal on my truck that i thought would never come agin.

Though I had a crazy jeep. ..I don't know if ill be doing any major mods to the truck. Maybe exhaust and intake at some point. But not in the NEAR future. Having a kid is expensive, and I have a lot of negative equity rolled into the taco (can I use this?)
The car I had previous to the taco, I got in December. Only 5 months! It was a bad choice. Only good thing about the car was gas mileage. But I couldn't stand to drive in it anymore!
I needed my manhood back! Plus it'll come in handy for hunting season!
Mods may come down the road if money allows. Till that off road "bug" bites. ;-)
