Lift install driving me nuts

I'm installing a pro comp 3 inch lift in my tacoma I got the driver side coil over in which was a pain. But now I'm stuck on the passenger side. The bottom of the shock is crooked about a half inch and won't line up. I've taken the spring off 4 times now to line it up but same thing every time. Any ideas please and thanks in advance

 

do you mean bent or twisted? mine was a little turned but i just put a screwdriver through the slot and turned it where i needed (I was using billies). similar i guess to turning the screws on a christmas tree stand for lack of a better example.

 

Stick a drift/socket extension/screwdriver/ect in the eye and twist it to where it lines up where ya need it. Do this with it top of the coilover mounted to truck to make it easier to get leverage and keep the entire assembly from twisting

 

Ok just tried and broke my screw driver and bent my extension didn't budge lol I can try getting a longer pole and get more leverage I just don't want to break the top studs

 

What shocks are you using?

Also they are pro comp e6000 shocks

 

This only makes vertical space to slip the now taller shock assembly in, does nothing if the eye is clocked wrong...

You can achieve the same effect by prying the lca down with big pry bar...neither will help the op.

Weird...mine were off about that much when I did mine, rotated just fine. Helped another member do his, same story. I run 5100's, he has the Iron Man shocks...both of these use a "floating" spring seat, not sure if that might make a difference?

 

What did you use to twist it ?

 

1/2" ratchet extension...like 8" long...I say 8 because I can't remember if it was a 6 or 10.

 

crap, without a floating (free to turn) spring seat, it will be difficult to turn that. short of removing the coil and trying again, I think it will take a lot of force.
