Do we need fancy coolant for our 1GR-FE? I'm gonna replace the water pump possibly on the 17th. Don't wanna run with low water levels.

Also, does the gasket go on dry or do you need an additional sealant?

Green Prestone the kind for any make is sufficient, I flushed mine with that and have it in there now. I also did a 1GR-FE last week the same way with what ever we have in bulk tanks. Gasket to pump dry if you want to have a hard time, I use permatex Ultra black

    Ok cool!

So the permatex goes between the block and the gasket?

I think it's going to have to be the Taco, not enough time to get the items to put the trail rig back together, besides the fact that it is in VT. I'm still waiting for my lift for the Taco too!! Toytec had the springs on backorder :(, I might be stock height still.

    So you're sticking with IFS?

For some reason I want to say I've been hearing the same thing.

Alright I'm losing it today. I have the day off and can't deal with watching more about the attack yesterday. I just want to go drive on some dirt. Anybody know of anywhere pretty local to the NS that I could go just for shits and gigs and to be outside and away on a day like this? PM if need be I know this type of info is highly guarded

If my understanding is right, it's similar to the GM Dexcool (aka Deathcool)..you can't mix them. I believe you "could" totally flush it and use the green stuff.

Unlike the Deathcool, I have not heard of issues arising from its use so I don't see a huge advantage to converting.
