Last time I did mine, uncle Sam got me good:eek:, Even after I got me an accountant to do next years, I goofed and it still cost me $1100:facepalm:but I got 'em good last year because of being on workers comp and I got 'em good again this year:D:D:D:D..

After the bombing I Boston I would strongly recommend a small carry and plenty of ammo:thumbsup:...makes one wonder what's becoming of this world...

Prices are up in PA...had a gun show nearby last weekend and even my son didn't buy any ammo...

    Evening all:
Tragic; what happened in Boston. Worlds really getting crazy.

How about this one: My buddy said a girl and a guy came into his shop to get something done. Through casual talk, it was conveyed that the girl was going to get $400K from a car accident where she was a passenger. She went with someone that had just broken up with his girlfriend, and apparently he decided to try to commit suicide by running into another car head on. I don't remember if he said the driver survived or not.

    Hi Sue!
Better find the ammo first, then buy the gun. Ammo of all types is very scarce in our area. Just hope the only ammo available is not for a .500 S&W! :D

Lynn has been talking about getting her concealed carry license - and a small pistol to carry. Need to make that happen.

Tragedy in Boston. It will be interesting to see who is behind it - heard this morning that the Feds are leaning towards domestic terrorists but I think the media is just speculating at this point. Pray for the dead, injured and their families.

You gotta be kidding! Someone don't know their butt from a hole in the ground if there's that much of a difference!
Hook me up with #3 next yr.; that is if you aren't in prison :D

OH... but don't worry, If you sent the $575 in, they would catch the mistake and send it back, along with the additional $1,421.
I've also wondered about that. How good are some of these tax preparers!

I have had 2 and both times my errors.

I feel that we should be able to do the forms ourselves. I do realize that under some circumstanses having a decent tax accountant is a plus.

    Hi Sue:
I think H&R block would be the last place I would get taxes done!
The guy that did mine went through their school, but decided to go out on his own instead of working for them.

I think they take a percentage of what you get back, so if you use the short form and get 2K back, they may charge $300-400.
If another preparer gets the same amt. back, using the short form, the fee may be $45-$60.
I could be wrong on this, but I'm going by what a young girl I know told me last yr., after going to H&R block.
We all told her; find another place to get your taxes done, they're ripping you off, there's no way you should be paying that amt. to get a short form done.

The lady I go to now HAD a H&R Block franchise. She has a private tax service now, and she's doing fairly complicated taxes for me for $60-$80.
Maby she likes me!!!! She is a widow.
UH! Got me thinking now; maby could get them done for free! ;)

I almost got a job at an H&R office here... lady that ran the place was a ditz. It was after the first of the year and she was spazzing looking for preparers. We did training one night and she was on my back, like it was MY fault she didn't have preparers ready to go. So, went elsewhere looking for a job.

H & R Block is like the IRS, you can have 3 different people do your taxes and get 3 different conclusions. If you call 3 different people at the IRS, you'll get 3 different answers. My accountant was recommended to me and he has done me good and kept me out of trouble and jail...Turbo tax was easy to cheat with but I paid the price when I got caught:facepalm:. What I think is a real slap in the face is when the commander in chief pays a lesser percentage in tax than me and he makes almost 10 times what I do:annoyed:...There's gotta be a better way!

    Oh, Good evening all:wave:
