What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Those are 255s? How tall? I'm thinking 255s next but those almost look too skinny for how tall they are.

Yes 255's. They are like a 33.8 I believe. Its not everyones taste but I like it!

 

I'm jealous of your hood light setup!

 

I found out that finding a tire for a 15 inch rim is meet with "I'll have to order it."

 

How much trimming goes along with that height? I'm thinking 32" is what I'm going with since I don't want to trim.

 

You'll have less trimming to do for skinny 34's than wide 33's. it's the width that hurts you most of the time.

 

Mainly the reason I'm not considering anything over 265. I don't need wider tires so I'd rather not sacrifice gas mileage and trim a bunch.

 

I love the look of wide tires, although my mpg's don't....

Skinny tires are growing on me though.

 

I get 20 mpgs on 33/12.5/15

 

You have alloy wheels or steelies? I'm getting 18 at best with steelies.

 

All the trimming is done in the rear. When flexed out it tore my flares up! But its not a ton of trimming. I used to like wider tires but skinnies are awesome. I'm getting great gas mileage. Over 300 miles a tank.

 

FINALLY ordered up some new lower ball joints. 186k on the originals is a little worrisome.

 

Alloy

 

I have alloys and I get 12 mpg city

 

I drive 120 miles a day round trip just to n from work

 

I wanted to get alloys, but I wasn't sure how hardcore I'd be wheeling in the future. Plus I couldn't pass up $192 for a set of wheels.

I get 14 at the worst when I drive 1 mile to work without the motor warmed up.

I'm looking forward to getting good gas mileage driving 500 miles home.
