MD 1st Gen Frame Rust

    I also put this in the NE forum... I'll put it here too so people see it....




    So I took my 02 to the dealership yesterday to get my frame checked for rust. Aside from some surface rust I passed. So instead of the frame swap I will just be receiving the corrosion prevention coating.

    However, due to environmental restrictions in MD the dealerships are not allowed to use the substance needed to coat my frame.

    The guy I talked to at the dealership seemed to think that things would change next year so my name is on some list and I will get a call for the coating when the regulations change next year.


    So if you are in MD and need this coating instead of a frame swap this is what you will have to deal with.

    certain states arent really "included" because they arent in a high risk area predisposed to frame rot because of excessive road salt use

    that may be the case here

    im sure its a moot point...but the a44d should be for a 4cyl 2wd "mini" and the a340E is prerunners...and a340F is 4x4...i THINK

    Yeah, the FSM isn't really clear on which one is in what model. I did notice it referenced the E in the 5vz and the F in the 3rz
