Not to catch fish, but it is beautiful and a great place to go regardless. Down river (below anywhere below deckers) is better newb water for catching.

Caught 15 yesterday with my buddy in his driftboat. He caught 8 fish all over 17in with one 23in rainbow. I caught 7 all over 17 with a 21in brown. 6 browns and 9 bows, 2 were caught on drys, one on a streamer, the others nymphing. It was a very fun trip!!

Don't be too hard on yourself. I've broken 3 rods this year. What kind of rod is it? Most company's have a no fault warranty repair.

Floated the CO in Glenwood Springs this weekend, epic BWO hatch! Anchored in the middle of a slow wide run at the bottom of a riffle, where the bugs were stacking up in the scuz drift and absolutely destroyed, stayed in the same spot for about 2 hours, and could have stayed longer, but we had another 6 miles to cover before dark!

Awesome day, and great to get back out floating again.

Hit up the Catskills in NY this past weekend. Water was 38 degrees with matching wind chills. Even had some snow! Still slow, but things are starting to pick up. Had a 16" and 19" Brown. Broke off a pig Sunday [IMG] Can't wait to go again. Tight lines!

They are not pontoon's, but if you are looking for something lightweight that you can pack in somewhere check out www.alpackaraft.com

They have several models, 2 you can row and others you paddle. The 2 you can row will fit 2 people, a little cramped but it can be done.

    The Fjord explorer
    https://www.alpackaraft.com/index.cfm/store.catalog?CategoryID=53&ProductID=87

The Vintage roe boat (same as Fjord Explorer but comes with a frame)
    https://www.alpackaraft.com/index.cfm/store.catalog?CategoryID=53&ProductID=166

I have an alpaca and a yukon yak and have fished from both boats, it's a little awkward because they do not track well plus they are small boats. Nice thing is that I can pack it in and with packraft, paddle, and PFD I'm under 8lbs for gear alone. These things are very tough. I've used both of mine to paddle lakes, backcountry lakes, as well as several class II, III, and IV rivers.

I agree they are pricey, but after using and abusing both of my packrafts I can tell you that they are worth every penny I paid for them

If you are looking for a used one keep an eye out on their forum in the for sale section
