The biggest issue is that I can't understand things without lipreading, so radios are out of the question. Besides, even if I could understand over the radio, I'm not sure they would let me, just from the sheer volume of hearing loss I have. But yeah! I can't be Law Enforcement either, I would love to be a Ranger in the National Park Service or the USFS.

Yeah, it makes for an interesting life sometimes haha. That's a lot of loss for a hearing person! I do have hearing aids, so I hear some things. Like people talking. Did the military compensate you for your hearing loss in any way?

I love loud music! Too bad my subwoofer is broken. . In my 4Runner set up, I can turn up the bass all the way, the headunit all the way, AND my aux in (in this case, my Zune) all the way up. And it doesn't hurt my ears lol, or at least that I can feel. Sure tortures the other hearing passengers in my rig haha, so I rarely do that.

Frankly, I am AMAZED at what hearing people can hear! lol

I might need to upgrade to Dakars. We just got a growler of saison from Anderson Valley Brewing Company here in Norcal. Along with some bourbon-barrel stout. Ever had anything from them? Their Hop-Ottin' IPA is very tasty and probabaly the most widely distributed.

 

Just get the AAL for the 5 packs. Adds a lot to the weight capacity.

I can't firefight but I've been National Park Service for the past five years. As in, actual NPS federal employee. That's the gray and green (uniform colors).

Four years in archaeology, now doing IT. Among a million other smaller things I do.

 

That was one of their more unusual special offerings. Frankly, a bit too sweet and a novelty, but definite vanilla/caramel from the Wild Turkey barrels it was cask-aged in. The Mokeefe Saison was awesome.
