Yes I am sure they were "tougher" on the recruits back when bill and 97yota were in basic, but they are still pretty damn tough on them now. I watched some YouTube videos of basic in the Marin's and in the army. The army DI's were like yea you can do this and that and blah blah blah, but the marines were in their faces, yelling at the top of their lungs. Idc who you are, if you get to become a Marine, you have my respect because they are a HELL of a lot harder in Marine basic than Army, NG, CG, Navy. Sorry if I forgot a branch. My stepsister went to basic for the Navy and she was allowed to call home EVERY weekend. We didn't get a call from Alex at all.
With that said, that doesn't mean I don't have respect for ANY of our soldiers, because I do. They put their lives on the line, literally, for our freedom.

Wow. So I really sound like I am talking down to everyone here? I never thought that, nor have I ever intended that. Most of the time I try my best to be polite and informative. It is what I do. I admit that I get defensive at times, especially when it comes to being a Marine. Maybe I should lighten up a little on that. Obviously I am coming across wrong if so many people take my posts that way. Not pissing in my cheerios, but damn. I didn't think so many people were offended by me. I'll not let that happen again.

Uh, no freakin way! I may sometimes do crazy stuff, but there is no damn WAY I would call a mod on this, that is crazy, and I can't believe someone would think I was THAT dang shallow!!

Maybe I should just drop out if so many people are offended by me, and think I would EVER EVER call a mod on something like that.

Sorry, fair enough. His post just disappeared, and he was attacking you, it's a logical conclusion.

I think you sometimes have a tendency to tell everyone what's what, and it can chafe buttholes, especially when it's a matter of opinion.

i totally understand you being defensive about being a marine.... i dont think anyone would ever blame a person for that. you went through something that very few on this planet have ever been through. it is a brotherhood and you are standing up for your brothers. but i would also hope that noone in here would ever try to offend you about that. so no need to be defensive imo. like i said before i was not trying to hurt feelings just as you say you are not trying to. just giving you an outside perspective as you have now given me. if that makes sense.

Can y'all sing kumbaya, rub some vaseline and lotion into each other's b-holes, and we go back to talking about trucks? You know, Texas-style.
