    I have never heard of the 107th Rangers. But I don't want to assume or accuse so I'm asking.

    So, his profile says 82nd Airborne / 107th Tac Assault...he claims 107th Rangers...and his profile also says Special Forces...

    I don't want to be an ass here, but something doesn't add up.

    So if Steveoc could clarify this for us, that would be great.

    OK, well it would be equivalent to a Sailor telling you he was:

    SEAL Squadron 115

    It just doesn't make sense.

    I was with the 82nd Airborne headquarters, but attached to many different units. the 107th was a tactical assault unit at I was assigned to. Right after Nam, the 97th Ranger, 3 star took command of the 82nd division. It probably doesn't add up due to the fact when I was in, you were still swimming in your daddys nuts...lol...I was in 78-83......a whole diff military back then...

    It didn't add up to me cause Rangers are now 1 Regiment, sperated into 4 BNs...and when you hear someone say which Ranger unit they are from, it's either 1st, 2nd, 3rd Ranger Batt...or Regiment (4th BN is a training BN).

    And 107th is no longer around obviously which is why.

    God...I guess in about 30 years kids will do the same to me...I've already had someone ask me what a Walkman was :(

    Yup. I don't know what time frame you were in? If it was my time you know the world was fucked up worse then it is today. Nam over shadowed so much. We were sent to quite a few countries for sops. Half of the units from the 70's,80's, have changed or disbanded. And no Jr, we didn't have internet. I actually trained on the first Sat com phone(brick). My class at Ft. Gordon pretty much got sucked up into special ops. We had all four branches in school. I ended up with the 82nd head Quarters, with a level 3 clearance. That made me a wanted man. Head Quarters supported everybody. They needed a com person, you were gone. Time flys....in 30 years who knows what will be left of the military??Cheers:cheers:

Jets/ planes....the dynamics blow me away...I hate the take offs and landings...would rather jump from them..
