Just saw on the evening news a 3rd person has died.

IIRC, 2 people were found dead at the scene and this particular person succumbed to their injuries. Hopefully no more do, but they didn't sound hopeful on TV.

Just said on the news they are looking for 2 guys one had a heavy backpack and other had a duffel bag, where also seen putting something down near bomb site. Said image caught by security camera nearby. Wonder if its these 2.

I cannot follow this issue any longer, the news is harping and sucking this thing dry, basically until the cows come home. If there are no new developments, they make news; one local paper even described the basic process on making a pressure cooker bomb and I shit you not, the next page ad was for Macy's and they had PRESSURE COOKERS ON SALE (Cape Cod Times)! The false alarm yesterday about having a suspect in questioning was due to the media circling this event like a vulture. I bet the stories are already typed up and they are waiting for the suspect to be identified; their fingers on the "submit" button so they can say they broke it first, Here on such-and-such a news station. It kills me that they have no new news to report, so they make news. They have to continually talk about it and the audience continually listens - be it the same 10 pictures cycled over again showing people with terror on their faces, or they run through the process to make a bomb because that is definitely important news. Makes me sick even thinking about it.

The news has gone down hill and this event really opened my eyes to see it. Maybe it is because I live within an arms reach of Boston, but I can't escape it. I can't even go to the bar to get a beer without seeing every TV set to the same news station showing pictures of a pressure cooker or of people with terror/disgust on their face.

I don't want to make it seem like I am insensitive to the event - the bombing makes me angry to my core. Innocent people, young children, all hurt/killed because some misfits didn't fit into society (or could be international terrorists). But people need a place to turn to try and find a little joy, if all I see on the TV is "breaking up to the date information", I can't begin to try and move forward.

May everyone injurered heal quickly, and may those who were taken rest in peace.

 

I agree with you about the media. Not that I'm defending them, but one ch I watched did address them talking about the making of bombs now. Basically they said all the info is already out there on the internet, so they are really not sharing anything that can't already be learned by a simple search.

I still don't think they should talk about it, could be giving someone an idea that they never thought about before.

With that said, I would never want to censor the internet, but how to easily make shit like that should not be available. IMO.
