Saw this beauty yesterday at Ward. Almost makes me wish I bought the devil horn emblems (price was too steep for my student budget)

I'm not 100% sure, but looks like it might be the truck I see at WCC fr time to time. I've only ever seen it from the side, so it's hard to tell.

    Sweet valence!

Pop & lock for my tailgate arrived today. Gonna be a part of truck Friday for me as I also have to work on my headlights that day and try to get the oil changed. Busy! Busy!

Since my lift is so minor do I even need to bother with getting my safety check done again?

Technically, anytime you change or modify the suspension, you are supposed to apply for a recon permit. I have it, but I see tons of huge truck in town without it. I have never heard of anyone pulled over for not having it, usually an ulterior motive or another thing to tack on a different charge.

Thanks! yeah, needless to say im pretty stoked. Working for the best only means i have the potential to learn and become better (if thats possible) the man sold over 120 vehicles in one month i think 4 months ago or so i was told. INSANE!!

Thats what i do!!! its probably the best way to save the offroad tires.

    -----------------------------------------------

so what are the plans for this weekend. This happens to be the last weekend ill have free before i start at servco this monday. I wanna go play in the sand at sandys or go up to kaena point. I know we got some new lifts to sample :D i wanna do some doughnuts somewhere!!

I think your good. My friend does mine and he is on the up and up. He wouldn't care about a 2.5" lift. Go over 3.5" and he would have a problem. But I know some that get trouble with 1.5".

I even pointed out that i didnt have RECON to some on duty cops a few times when they were admiring my truck. They couldn't have cared less.

But now I gots one :)

Yeah id agree small lifts and drops Cops could carless however I got fucked over on my old Mazda by a cop this past December I went to go met my friend at Sandys (12 am) so i could follow him to his house down Nalo I pulled in and parked for 1 minute and some cop came flying in thinking I was up to no good tagged me for Recon, my front license plate not mounted on the front bumper and HIDS $200 ticket he asked me afterward if i had my license plate and i said yeah then he said o well wish i sen it earlier and still marked me for it
    it really depends
been pulled over before when i had recon and cop said good thing i had it
others could careless unless u get bags and shit

damn. thats the thing that bugs me, i havnt even heard of a recon sticker until i moved here from the big island. and i still dont know what its about?? (could somone please explain what it is?) on the big island; a lift meant nothing but the fact that you had a lift and a boat meant nothing but the fact that you had a boat. since ive been here ive heard that you cant have a lift without a recon sticker?? wtf?? also on the big island you can have a boat and launch it wherever and no one cares, but here i launch a boat and 10 minutes later im being boarded by officers looking for life vests and god knows what!? im still confused. haha

    Oh boy...
had the same issues when i came from Kauai..... the cops here is nutz. Recon is bullcrap.

but to explain (at least from what i understand now) Recon is needed for any aftermarket additions to a vehicle in the suspension or performance area. I think u need recon if u get a S/C or even turbo. not sure tho. I know of plenty douche cops that want to get everyone for their tires and lift and rims too big, etc.

thats why im glad my truck i had bought already had a recon sticker (and did all my additional mods off island or myself so i think im good)

oh and i forgot, u cant pass recon unless u have had done a safety inspection within so many days. not sure but i think its a one time deal right?? until u do more suspension mods i think......

    I'd be in.

Basically, if you modify the frame/suspension, or swap engines to anything that was not originally available on your model, then it must be inspected by the reconstructed vehicle permitting office.

It didn't have to be on on your car from the factory, but it has to be an originally available option to avoid RECON. So if I want a standard transmission instead of my auto, I could swap it in without RECON since it was an original option, unless I have to weld to make it fit.
