I had my laptop on full volume hooked up to speakers... poor kid is gonna be deaf and having nightmares. people were knocked to the ground 2 miles away from the blast. That kid could have major hearing damage, but very lucky to be alive that close.

    Yikes!

News is reporting 60-70 as killed including first responders. Also 40 that are in grave condition. So many others were injured-hundreds. Says it blew when water was poured on it.

Oh man, that is so very sad.

A good amount, lol She hooks it up with food. College + Tacoma make me broke.

I was up in Folsom tonight, sold my Nfab light bar to another member, met him at BWW then had dinner there. Girl has been working 6-7 days a week so I go to see her a bit.

If I'm not seeing the girl, I'll be down town on sutter street with friends or at toby keiths. It's a good town, that doesn't get as ghetto as down town sac.

I'm either in my truck or on my CBR1000RR. I'll keep an eye out for you and your bike! I was just up off salmon falls the other weekend on my bike with some buddies. You ever ride back there?

yeah that really sucks. ammonium nitrate is extremely powerful. at high temperatures above 200c AN decomposes. in a situation such as that, water decomposes into hydrogen and oxygen adding more power to the blast. once the plant is on fire, people should have just left, first responders never had a chance. i'm surprised they didn't have proper disaster protocols set in place. there've been several crazy explosions at these plants or related in the past 100 years. i mean even cargo ships have been lost at sea (with all hands) from stuff like this.

the oklahoma city bombing was the result of ammonium nitrate and kerosene, and this was only a uhaul truck. in this case, we're talking about an entire factorying along with all the AN stocked up and ready to be shipped out.

    :(

Toby Keith's is so expensive.....$14 for a mixed drink? Lol F off bartender. Beer was like $8 I think as well. I actually ride salmon falls a lot and take it from that el dorado hills turn off point next to Folsom lake and ride it through until it pops out on whatever that stretch of road is. Take a right and head down and past lotus park back to my house. It's my motorcycle therapy :)

All in all, very sad event. A lot of local fire departments probably have no idea what happens or what kinds of things are stored at a place like that.

This morning's news is reporting fewer fatalities/injuries although I'm sure the number will fluctuate as they they work to figure things out.

    Such a tragic event.

Speaking of evil twins. You know how they say everyone has a twin somewhere in the world? Went to training about 8 years ago and had a guy in my class who could pass for my twin (back then anyway). It's really weird when you run across someone who looks like you.

Then recently was talking to someone from another department at a conference that I'd dealt with in the past. Had to refresh his memory of where I worked. He remembered that and was relieved because he said he ran across a guy in another department that looked just like me and said that guy was not pleasant to work with. Yep, evil twins exist!
