    Yes, the ladder is the main support for the cantilevered end. The only time it would be a problem to not have the ladder is when you're getting in and out since most of your body weight would be over the supported half while you're sleeping....when in doubt climb out the door and down the side of your truck on the supported end :laugh:

    SPEAKING of ladders....
    Once you get your tent mounted on your vehicle at whatever height you choose you will need to drill holes in the rails of the ladder for the locking pins to fit into. Set the ladder so that the flat tops of the rungs are about level (the rungs are D shaped) and try pressing the pins into the rails so they mark the aluminum or mark the rails in another fashion.
    And as a word of caution, make sure the pins are actually square, directly across from one another. Mine are about 1/8" off but I drilled my holes square across from one another on the rails which led to a lot of frustration trying to figure out why only one pin would lock when I extended the ladder. :goingcrazy:

    If this doesn't make much sense now, it will once you see the tent in person.

    I spoke with Bobby by phone and he told me that he is going to start carry some special mat to address the moisture condensation issue. By our conversation, I understand that the mat have to be between the mattress and the floor.
    Bobby told me that he is going to send me a sample to test it out, let's see what happens.

    Could be. There's another product called dri-bunk that worked awesome for the same thing. But I haven't been able to find it for sale anymore. It's more of a thin piece of carpet that absorbs moisture rather than a barrier to create airflow.

    I did mention the Moab trip and how important it was for the tents to have shipped in time for that. HOmer just needs to stop getting his panties in a twist.
