There are a few trails I've wheeled where you simple would not have fit thru as your sheetmetal is currently configured.

 

In one of these arguments, they said the rear end was first used in 1979.

Who has bigger mirrors? 1st or 2nd gens?

 

Well lots of people put spacers on..but not to a final resulting of 2.5 BS haha.

 

According to Edmunds.com,

Width (End of Mirror to end of mirror):
1st gen is 70.3"
2nd gen is 74.6"

So that is a whole 2.15" on each side with the mirrors in normal driving postition

 

In some of the places I wheel, the mirrors act like curb feelers. They tell you when that tree is close.

 

I saw this Dark Blue 2nd gen the other day with a huge lift (at least 6") and what looked like 35's with sliders and front and rear plate bumpers. I asked Brant about it and he knew it. Said the guy wheels a lot and hard. All CBI armor. He runs 36/13R15's when he wheels. They are 15x12's wheels with 3.5" BS and runs 2.5" spacers on them so the 15's can clear his calipers haha

 

Batman has 4" flare fenders and his mirrors still stick out a little farther than his fenders. So I know that if my mirrors hit something I would still have 4-5" on each side before my fenders got into it.

 

That sounds stupid haha

 

15's are a lot cheaper to go tear up though. You should see my KM2's! Cameron was surprised yesterday when I told him they only have 10,000miles on them. They are chewed up! Lava rock is harsh on tires.

And it's not like he DD's those tires. He has a set of street tires/wheels. Looked like 17's or 18's.

No shit! I saw a 1st gen with what looked like a 15" block lift when I was down there!

 

Why I don't want to go to a 17 15s are cheap. But I seriously need better brakes.

 

I know... I will have to go to 17's for 37's though. They don't make 37's in 16's or 15's.

oh my god the baby powder like silt we were driving through a couple weeks ago was crazy! It was windy as hell and everyone's trucks kicked up SO much dust. There were silt beds/washed we were mobbing through and I shit you not I had waves of the silt washing and splashing over the hood and against window.











on another note ben, you can appreciate this...i spend EIGHT HOURS in the math lab today with 3 different people over the course of the day studying for a math test. We covered all 8 sections of the book that the test is going to be over while I was there from 12 to 8pm straight. it was fucking ridiculous.

There is a part right before we hit the switch backs on shoshone that is pure silt too. And its red Chugwater formation soil. SOOOO bad. Jon and i weren't read for it and i was like 2 trucks lengths be hind him. Crossed the cattle guard at like 25mph and BOOOOMMM!!!! Explosion of red dust!! i couldn't see shit! lol need less to say i slammed on the brakes still reminicent of Moab and it was my first trip out in the rig lol Had to wait for him to get like 1/2 mile or more before i could see. Crazy.
