yea there's a screw at that area, so i don't think it'll pop off really at that location...but if i can get it to get up in there without rubbing and not cut too much, i'll do it..but then the issue is, once i cut, then the flare won't be as secure and would be more likely to pop off...never ending circle

sucks because it's not that much that it's touching haha...

looks pretty much like the same amount of flare that i was rubbing on too...so close haha

well thanks to a tip from this guy

i found a way to help secure my donaldson better...simple coupler should do the trick..

currently have have to wrap the top of the snorkel with some tape to help get a better fit..the coupler should make attaching the pre-filter much easier and more secure

his company has some nice campers too.. http://rockymountainfourwheelcampers.com/

That thing is so bad ass! Really digging the camper shell. Is it a pop-up? And are you doing a similar filter setup as the one pictured, is that what you are talking about?

been trying to figure out a good method of connecting it besides wrapping tape around the snorkel top to create a snug fit

Does your prefilter fit inside or outside the snorkel? I had to dremel the snorkel on my truck to make it fit.

outside...to get a good fit, i take a few layers of gorilla tape to the top of the snorkel to match the ID of the prefilter..

    prefilter is a 3.75" if i recall

Forgot you have a different snorkel on the safari it had to fit inside. I'm curious about the 10" for the s/c.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking me... I can now turn my wheel in any direction to full lock and back at full stuff. And when I say full stuff I mean with no coilovers and on the bumps so hard that it's slightly lifting the truck off the jackstand on that side.:D

Edit: Oh, I see what you are saying. Actually, I had 1.5" of clearance with the wheel turned. I didn't even check it with the wheel straight. Sorry.

I checked for clearance on my truck the same way. Pulled out the coilovers and turned them every which way at full stuff. Works like a charm and is fairly easy if you have a free afternoon
