There was a mysterious package left in the school parking lot today, buildings were evacuated and all sorts of stuff, but it's all clear now I guess... Crazy shit.

Edit: sorry, in one of the many school lots, but one of the bigger ones

Watertown is nuts right now! We have been locked down since last night. I actually drove by them last night without even realizing what was going on! I have never seen so many cruisers rushing to one spot at once

Not IMO. I was running Downey headers, 30 lb LCE flywheel, and a heavy duty centerforce clutch and the engine had plenty of torque to spin a set of fatty 33" rubbers. I went through two sets of leaf springs, and finally decided on a set of Dakars sized for a 4Runner.

What do you think of an acute LCE n/a build? Leave the lower and build the upper? I'm not new to engines and I was thinking of a PnP intake Mani along with a ported exhaust along with a 3 angle valve job. I could do all this for nothing limited to cost of gaskets. Or go with a complete LCE head

I had an extra 2.7L on a stand in the garage, with the same intent you have... before I got deployed again.

My thoughts were centered on N/A, and I was definitely interested in a stronger and lighter crank/pushrod/piston setup with an upgraded oil pump and a deeper oil pan. Having a bulletproof lower end is like having a stronger foundation for house, you can build on it and it won't fail. Starting there is a really good idea if you're going to build a strong motor that will take a beating.

I wanted to port and polish the head to save on money while increasing flow, and if you do the valves at the same time you should be good there as opposed to buying a whole new setup. I was also thinking about the LCE cams ($$$) to get a little more duration. IMO it's key to have the bigger valves and the more aggressive cams to get the extra air and fuel in there. Is it possible to port the stock intake mani to match the head and polish it as well?

I'm not 100% sure whats the best/easiest/cost-efficient approach. I think my 2011 is going to end up with a supercharger and headers, then I'll call it a day.

Upgraded valve springs and rev that bitch out to 9000 rpm. That's how you make power with NA. Move that air and throw fuel and spark advance at it.

Finally out of Boston. The FBI has its office in my building so they went into lock down harder than the city no one in or out. Armed guards surrounding the building and bomb dogs on patrol.
