So i didnt have fiberglass and resin to make a "Satoshi" style recessed grill, so i made my own mesh grill made out of mesh from home depot. i plan on getting a grillcraft later on i just wanted to have something for a while to see if i like it.
using my stock chrome/black bumper i broke the tabs holding the two peices together.
set the black aside and cleaned the back of the chrome piece.

i tried to find tabs to anchor the mesh to the back but all the stores didnt seem to know what i was looking for and i gave up.
i resorted to the "Glue the crap out of it method" using superglue/epoxy/silicon/ and tons of gorilla glue haha
so heres the final product, im pretty happy with it, i just hope the force of the wind against it doesnt push it off the plastic

    securedownload-1_b85f69da3a2bfcf15968e7c6da63d89cd13afc80.jpg

and i dont care about re-using this grill, when i get my grillcraft im getting a whole new all black grill.

I'm gna black out the mesh, dnt worry pittim. Haha. I plan on putting lights behind it and it would need to be black or the light would reflect and scatter like illegal mexicans around ICE agents

I know I love it too. It's not open like chicken wire but still let's u look thru. I bought it at home depot. It comes in a 12" x 20' roll for like 20 bucks it's on the gutter/vents aisle. Leaves me with extra to make more or if I wanna do lower lip or something

haha good stuff. i think with your black wheels, blacking out your chrome is just a natural step :p

why didn't you do the side vents? if you look at the back, they're just clipped in kinda. do them too for a more complete look :)

The side vents are next, i just was struggling getting the main part to stay glued down haha took 5 hours and 3 12-packs of coke to press it until the glue dried. its on pretty sturdy now tho.

im gna do the side vents this weekend hopefully, before i leave for a summer camp that im working at.

nope, wasnt you then. it was brown/tan but it was all tinted out and i couldnt remember if you had tint on it or not.

do u know of any places to wheel by us? other than carnegie or hollister? i have a non-trd prerunner so i cant do hardcore stuff.

i get jealous when i see these people from the south or central US that are able to just find random trails and go wheeling whenever. we dont get that priveledge in the concrete jungle of the Bay area. :(

I'm just sayin there might be some light trails by some of the train tracks in the East Bay... also out by Vallejo and Antioch too, there's areas that have posted no trespassing signs that have moto and 4x4 tracks/trails cut into them...

I have a PreRunner now and no desire to go farting around like that anymore, but when heading to Costco in Vallejo (when I stay at the GF's in Benicia), I see rigs out there all the time.

Google Earth can be your friend...
