Yup, and as a "terrorist", they fall under different rules. They can be locked up forever without ever seeing a courtroom.

I thought there were reports that the flash bang was thrown on top of the boat, which might have sparked a small fire.

Isn't he 109? Is over 18 adult or is that 21?

There were INVOLVED?? Oh my. I thought they were brought in for questioning, I didn't realized it was proved that they were involved. I wonder how many others were part of this.

I'm still glad he was taken alive, there are way too many unanswered questions and this will hopefully make it easier to answer them.

Last I heard they were just questioned but that was last night. I heard they were like his roommates at U Mass but I don't know if that was confirmed.

I would think he would be tried as an adult, I think even if he was 17 he would be tried as an adult because of the crimes. I don't think regular age classification changes for this.

I say take him in a cage threw down town so everybody can see the sick fuck and throw stuff at him. Then in a controlled area strap small amounts of C4 to his legs and blow them off. Let him bleed out.

The death penalty only serves vengeance...it serves as no deterant to future criminal activity/terrorism.

A life sentance of hard labor is better suited for convicted violent criminals & terrorists.

If I had my way with the prison system I would make it the most brutal experience one could have. doesn't matter how civilized a country is, if youre proven unfit for society all bets are off.

I don't think someone who is willing to commit an act like this or similar really cares whether they get put to death or if they spend the rest of their life in jail. You can't talk about them like they have a normal mindset that one of us have. I don't think either is a "deterrent" when it comes to terrorist acts.

I have to agree also. Prisoners live better than many hardworking people in this country. I say make them work for their food and bed. Every prison should have a factory or farm land right next to it to keep these guys busy and productive during the day.

Put him to death or not , doesn't matter as far as deterrent

but reducing yourself to savage treatment of a savage runs the risk of you becoming a savage

    IMO

You are correct. In terrorist-world they are heroes, no matter what the punishment. However, instead of a fancy free room and board for the rest of his live he should be working.

Treatment does not have to be "savage". I am just saying that instead of hanging around all day they should do something productive to earn their keep. If I have to work for my food, there is no reason why they should just hang around and have fun.

This is what I would like to see, prison's should be "profitable" in that the labor done by the inmates should more than cover the cost of running the prison, ideally making significant profit for the government beyond that. And the inmates shouldn't be just productive, they should be worked hard, eat/sleep/work is all they do, every day.
