    The diff isn't centered though... you can see it offset to the driver's side. My issue is I don't see why you would do that to a Jeep... There are plenty of IFS vehicles out there already with LT kits for them.

    Sure we SAC our rigs, but people SAS Jeeps still too so no matter what you get nowadays you have to go that route to get stronger axles.

    That pic I posted says, As an engineers GPA approaches 0 he will change over to a business major since he can't cut it as an engineer ;)
    RCtoy blew up his ADD side gear (also called jack shaft). Same thing that Silas broke recently and probably a good reason to not bother with spending $2000+ on stronger CV's (on a 1st gen, possibly a 2nd gen too) because that side gear is just as weak as the CV's and a lot harder to change that a CV is. We were able to change Konsta's pretty easy, but we had it at his shop on a lift with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tools at our disposal. We had to pull both CV's and the ADD off of the front diff and then find a really small and long punch to punch it out from the other side. Then you have to seal the ADD back onto the diff and refill all of the fluid that pours out when you pull off the ADD. A single cv is much easier to replace and cheaper too since they are easier to find that those little ADD side gears.

    isnt the ADD only on automatic hubs? How did sials break that if he is on manual hubs?

    And of course the diff isnt centered, whats your point? You cant center a front diff because it has to be off to one side depending on which side the drive shaft come out of the t case. I was just saying how it doesen't look like an IFS diff...it looks like a solid axle diff with the steering ends chopped off. As for doing it to a jeep...dunno lol, who cares, its pretty bad ass.

    There are plenty of centered front diffs out there. Just none on production vehicles, at least not that I know of. haha

    I think Silas still has the ADD stuff there, he just used a hose clamp to lock it in place. Same thing most guys do that do the manual hub conversion.

    Speaking of which, what do you manual hub guy's front diffs look like since you don't need that ADD? Do you just run a longer side gear than what us ADD guys do?

    He does have manual hubs, but I think he started life as an ADD so the ADD stuff is still there, just disabled.

    Blawkhawk88 or RJallday (can't remember which) is thinking about doing a center diff setup, but it is a lot of work. Have to move the motor back to make room for the front driveshaft and diff.

    Very common for Long travel. A centered diff can run longer arms and therefore get more travel.

    Yeah, I tried not to sound rude when explaining to him why. But I don't think it matters how you put it, telling somebody their truck isn't worth what they think is rude...

    It'll be for sale for a long time and then he'll realize that he'll have to lower it. He'll get $8,000 if he's lucky.
