    Ugh.. Sorry Matt, that's sucktastic.

I bought the basic radioshack CB and machined a custom mount out of the one provided with the whip to secure it to the factory rails. At some point I'll probably paint it black, but for now it'll work. On trails I don't like riding right in someones dust cloud because I envision it clogging my air filter, filling my engine bay, door and window seals, air conditioning filter and making it difficult to see the road to my liking. CB will allow me to hang back a bit and let the dust settle. :D

On the trails I've seen so far it's no problem assuming you have decent ground clearance. Mine is the TRD sport 4x4 which has a pretty high ride height stock with the bilstein shocks and has been just fine. Don't forget you should air down the tires which also lowers you a bit.

I've done every trail in this entire area with a stock SR5 double cab. No fancy bilstein shocks, on 31" street tires.

Proof. 3rd day I owned my truck, at Santiago Peak.

Nice! I know it can be done, but I thought it might bottom out. I've seen new 4x4's with smaller rims/tires that have considerably less room in the wheel wells and sit lower than your truck in the pic.

Yup the only thing that bottoms out is the front mudflaps, but if you still have those then you're probably not on TW :D

I did all of that in derprunner mode too...no 4WD ;)

Word, I made it up there w/o A/T's and without engaging my 4WD. As did a buddy of mine in a Frontier under same said conditions.

Hey Kevoh, are we eating first at Johns or should I get there when they open at 8 and grab a burrito?

I ran this about a month ago when my truck was like pretty bare bone. Close to stock atleast. The time I ran it I had only Street tires Dunlop At20's 245/70/16(i believe it was). But i had bilstein 3 inch on the front.

Anyways, its doable straight stock, Heres my proof photo:
