My daughter received a speeding ticket near Marietta, OH on Friday. 83 in a 65. Anyone know what the amount will be? It was her first ticket. She will be 20 next month so I guess she made it longer than me before her first ticket.

If its anything like here the ticket will be about $20 but then they tack on $150 in court costs....

Take it to a fix it ticket place. We have hundreds out here in vegas but I go to Craig p Kenney only pay 90 bucks reduced to a parking ticket no court and no points. I've only had 2 speeding tickets and one exhibition of power as well got them all reduced none which show on my driving record. I know you don't live in vegas but I know a lot of lawyer offices do this service all over

It's going to be different between state/province/country. Check the local government sites for that county and it should tell you.

i got a ticket for speeding going on the I-15 86 in a 65, i went to night court (you can only plead guilty in night court) and the judge reduced the fine by 200 dollars so i only paid 220 after court and traffic school.

In texas for a first ticket you can be simply placed on "probation" for 1-6 months and if you don't get another ticket during that time it's like you never sped. You still pay the fine but it doesn't show up on your record. You can also request to do an on-line defensive driving to keep a ticket off your record, still pay the fine though just like with the probation.

My daughter got "several" in North Carolina. Each time she got one she would pay some lawyer about $200.00 bucks or so and the ticket disappeared. Maybe it was her age that they let her do this was around 18-19 at the time.Hopefully Ohio has the same type situation for younger drivers.

Being an Ohioan I'll chime in. I got pulled over by SHP when I was 18 and my tickets was 120$. I was going 76 in a 55. Also got one at 63 in a 35 I was 21. Pulled over by the village police.Same price. Two points on my license but my insurance stayed the same for both tickets.

If you have to ask, it will hurt. As mentioned, the ticket will be a one time deal, but the monthy cost of the insurance hike will be the killer. I would see if any "programs" mentioned above are available in your area. This could be a bonus...:D
