    That sucks! I had mine break at the Ujoint in June 2011. It was covered under warranty at least.

    I would guess the smell was from the DS spinning on the rope holding it off the ground.
    Note the polished section on the DS.

    Anything other than 4x4 (which you need to grease the u-joints), you need to keep an eye on those sealed u-joints, so shit like that don't happen. Its BASIC fricken maintenance!!!

    well this is part of the reason I have AMA/CAA for incidents like this

    it also looks like your need some exhaust repairs, how fast where you going when the driveshaft went pop

    i didnt know about the whole greasing u-joints thing

    i think maybe 30-50 i was trying to pass someone who jammed there brakes and i gassed it a little to beat the car in the next lane and when the power kicked in that shit went BANG

    basically two years in a row ive been saved by just having a membership, three free tows to where I choose withing 100miles works nicely when you wheel your truck hard and snap something and make it un drivable

    no i bought the truck with a shit ton of miles and never thought about the u-joints. i just checked it out and it seems like one of them is fine but im going to have to replace the front u-joint.

    however [​IMG] concerns me and not sure if i have to replace the whole front driveshaft or can i just replace that back piece
