Just do it yourself and save some dough. I just did mine last week. It's easy to do. Did mine with valvoline maxlife. No complaints so far

Yeah...the DIY way with pumping in new fluid and out the old through the transmission lines?

It has also seemed to make my shudder better after all...or if anything its masking the issue so its not apparent.

I had my trans flushed and filled today 6/6/13, My 08 ACC has 42K miles on it. I use it for towing a 4K+ lb trailer and I haul my bikes in the back regularly with the trailer. I was planning on changing the ATF at 50K cutting the 100K in half because I haul a trailer. Something just told me to do this now instead of waiting to 50K. I plan on pulling a lot this summer and did not want to take a chance. here is what the ATF looked like. New it is the color of red kool-aid. Not only is mine very dark with a slight tint of red left, it also has the familiar smell of burnt trans fluid. The mechanic told me that it was time to change and if I was only driving the truck lightly with out hauling, 60K would be a good change point, 100K was out of the question as far as he was concerned and I trust this guy, I think he is the best mechanic in the area.

I will change it again at 72K mile. THe flush I had was from BG with BG fluid that is in spec with Toyota's WS fluid.

AN once of prevention is worth pound of cure. I paid $266 for the flush and fill. If I do it again at 72K mile it will cost me .008 cents per mile to have a clean trans and peace of mind.

I had a VW Passat with a sealed trans that VW said not to touch. It fried at 105K miles just out of warranty. The sealed trans issue is a selling point to highlight lower maintenance and to promote new car sales. manufactures are in the business of selling new vehicles not trying to keep them on the road for 20 years.

Any prudent truck owner would be wise to follow the time tested practice of changing fluids regularly. The flush is an added benefit.

Completely agree with you. I was planning on changing mine out at 30K even though I don't plan on much towing. This is my first automatic vehicle and everyone I know with automatics (any make) had trouble in the higher miles. I figure if it helps at all, I'm ahead of the game.
