Hey guys i'm looking to tint my left and right driver side and passenger windows. I just want to match them to my rear windows in the picture. I know that the rear windows are factory tint but I would like to know if any of you in Socal know of a good place that will do a quality job and that has good tint, and maybe lay down some good tint brands. To my understanding they use a film so that is what i'm on, but any assistance with this would be great.

Find a place that offers Llumar, and ask them what would match. I don't know for sure if I have 15% or 20%, but it matches perfectly from the outside and almost perfectly from the inside looking out.

You'll get a Llumar lifetime warranty card with it - put it in a safe place.

My sig pic is a pretty good indicator of what it looks like in real life.

3m tint does the job I had my buddys friend do my tint on a weekend..if i remember i went with 25% on the front driver and passenger windows.

There are probably varying degrees of tint on the rears. I wonder if it has to do with wether or not you have the privacy tint on the back? Some swear that 35% matches perfectly, but my wife has 35% llumar on her car and it would not match on my taco for sure.

yeah i went 20 on my front too and it matched the back perfect .... place i was gonna reccomend in tijuana isnt in in business anymore, according to my buddy it somehow caught on fire.

and 3m film is no good they are all turning purple and ive NEVER used any glass cleaner with ammonia ibn it. I have to call 3m first to verify the lifetime warranty but the cartoys by my house said once i do that they will retint all of em ... buncha jackasses i have all the paperwork with it stating that its lifetime warrantied but im sure once i get conformation they are gonna try and screw me anyway cause the place in vacaville, ca didnt do a very good job on the back window, and the front windows and windshield strip are illegal in california where i got it done and supposedly the warranty wont cover "illegal installations" , not to mention the windshields cracked down the bottom and just yesterday my radar detector fell down and when i tried to put it back up the windshield cracked more up the middle too ... im sure when i run the defroster this morning its probably gonna crack all the way up to the top cause thats how the other crack started

    anything 20-40 will work.
Depending on laws you may want to go lighter.

30% will allow you good vision from inside but match 5% rears very well form the exterior.
I went with 40% fronts this time to appease the Po-Po, looks good.

I can vouch for these guys, got mine done there. Not the cheapest, but you pay for quality and service.

I've had Llumar on 3 vehicles and I'm not a fan of it. But I wouldn't skimp on tinting, and find a shop that has been in business for a while with a good reputation and who uses quality, life time warrantied window film.

From what I can gather 20% tint is the closest match. I wouldn't go any darker, for safety reasons. I friend almost hit a person on the street with his 5% window tinting. 15% is pretty damn dark, in CA tinting the front windows is illegal. I had 35% and got pulled over for it, and I've had 20% on for the past year and had no issues. One car was highly modified, the other not so much, so I think it gets less attention and how that vehicle is driven.

I'd like to go 20% on my Tacoma to match, but I am hesitant and am thinking 35% would be safer. 35% is still plenty dark, but 20% is great. Anything darker IMO looks really poorly.

although I am not near by and can't recommend a place to get it done, I have found that the "20%" tint range matches the rear pretty close. From the inside the front will look darker, but thats the nature of the beast, outside the "20%" range should match just about perfect.

The reason I say 20% range is because tint manufacturers vary with how they list their VLT. Some are 20, some are 22, some are 25, etc etc etc

Sunshield Glass Tinting in Sherman Oaks did mine. Real stand up guy and if you say you were referred and have tried prices at other dealers, he'll knock down the price for you. Got 3 windows of 3M tint for $80.
