The days of tax-free online shopping could finally be numbered.

The bill introduced by Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., called the Marketplace Fairness Act, would grant all states the power to collect taxes from out-of-state vendors selling goods to their residents.

But there remains some resistance. Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., chairman of the Finance Committee, opposes the bill because he argues that it would force businesses to keep track of far too many different tax codes. (Montana does not have a sales tax.)

That caught my eye too. Maybe he owns big stock in Walmart or something similar.

Those 'brick & mortar' type stores are the ones that stand to benefit most from the changes that will come when online retailers are forced to charge sales tax.

 

Yea..who knows.

Either way..I can kinda see it helping boost your local economy..

 

I heard Idaho just passed a bill allowing sales tax to be charged for online purchases now.

seems like more than just buying a kit from the local parts store. i know i didn't pay that for my kit. also y are you replacing the half moons they are aluminum and just sealed in with RTV..
