What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Working on installing a new 4 tab light bar. I did discover that I can remove the bumper bolts by using very little force with my fingers. Geesh,.. out of all the bolts to not tighten.

 

Just got my steps delivered. No hardware. Can anyone tell me the size bolts I need?

I believe they're M8, but what pitch? How long?

 

yesterday i put my new bushings into my Light racing UCA. i completely destroyed my left one some how. only had 21k miles on it? the new spec ones are pretty awesome. getting the old rubber ones out of the housings was a major pain!

what kind of oil did you use ^

 

nice. Since i just put lockers and gears my gear guy just said put your basic dino oil in.

 

Washed and waxed. Removed the through the glass CB antenna mount finally and cleaned the rear window.....



That was just one piece of glass!

 

Installed some Toyota logo door projectors, also swapped out the dome light to a blue LED, and changed the Map and Plate lights to white LEDs.

Short vid of the door projectors, they look a lot better in person. All I have is the crappy ipad camera that doesnt do well in dim lighting.

You could wipe down the entire interior of my truck, and not get that much dirt. I have OCD

 

I always pay more attention to the outside of my truck. The interior is fairly clean, but I always seem to miss the rear window when cleaning. Like...always. I'm pretty sure it's the first time it's been cleaned. After I got them cleaned I removed the rear headrests and now I can SEEE!

 

Got it from a friend.... he's a Stereo install guy..... the switch end, is adjustable... just cut off what you don't need. As pictured.... it was too long for my tailgate to close... I snipped off a good quarter inch off the tip.

You should be able to get one from a Stereo install shop.....

 

Well, didn't work on Tacoma today, but did use it for part/tools runs. Today was work day for my daughter's Fiesta, new brakes and rotors for the front, easy. However, replacing a leaking axle shaft seal ($14) cost me most of the day. Access was the main issue. First, I couldn't get my cv axle attachment for my slide hammer around the axle. Next, my various pry bars, screw drivers, etc, couldn't pop the axle out of tranny. Trip to Harbor Frieght, and 2 new pry bars, one finally did the trick and popped the axle out. Seal came out fine, but didn't have socket big enough to get a clean hit on new seal to seat it proper.

Trip to Home Depot to get a pipe fitting big enough to drive new seal. Nice fit, but couldnt really get a clean hit on it to seat it. Prob spent 30-45 min trying to seat it. Finally got it, but not as clean as I would like. Not leaking, but I don't have that "Good job done" feeling either. It better hold, that job was a pain in the ass.

Now that that is done, installing Firestone Ride Rite and compressor on Friday.
