I don't know if you saw his location but where he is there are no country provided animal services. I guessed based on the stray dog in the picture before I ever saw his location. The middle east has some of the coolest 'muts' that are stray dogs. They remind me of the wild dogs of Africa.

They really don't care about strays over here which makes me wonder about what they did with the pups. The parents aren't bad looking dogs either, just you know...strays.

Here are all of the dogs we have either owned or still do own. The only one missing is my first dog Snuggles. He was a German Shepard that I got when I was 4 but we only had him for about 6 months. He simply got too mean and my parents gave him to I think a junkyard owner for him to be a guard dog. I named him Snuggles because the day I got him, he snuggled up next to me in my coat and I was 4 so I didn't realize how stupid of a name it was at the time for a German Shepard. Maybe that pissed him off, which is why he always attacked me. Kind of like the boy named, Sue.

My next dog was a polar opposite. It was a Pug named Pongo. I got him when I was 6 and my Mom took me the same day to see 101 Dalmations, that was out in the theater at the time. Pongo was the lead dog in the movie and me at 6 still lacking any originality named Pongo after that dog. He was my buddy too. I had him until I was 19 years old. He died I think of a heart attack at old age. I came home from class in college and found him dead. He had probably just died too because his body was still warm and no rigor mortis had set in yet. I only have a few pictures of him though due to a lot of our family photos disappearing over the years. I balled my eyes out when he died. In high school, I even made him a 2 story dog house that he would climb up into the second story all the time and sleep in. Here is one I still have of him probably right before he died.

My next dog was Jett. She was a German Shepard mix who was given to me by a girlfriend in highschool. Pongo died in September of 93' and Jett was born on New Years Day in 04', a few months later. My friends knew I was bummed over Pongo so when their dog had puppies they gave one to me as soon as she was old enough. Jett was a great dog and traveled all over the United States with me. Very loyal dog too. Unfortunately, in 97' or 98', she fell out of my truck. I had her tied in the back with only 1 leash because I couldn't find her second one that day. I was going down a hill and around a corner and some guy in a ricer cut me off. I swerved to avoid having him clip the front of my truck but Jett wasn't ready for that so she fell out. Fortunately, she slipped out of her collar but landed weird on her right front leg. She didn't break any bones but had some road rash and a bruised lung. But we also found out a few nerves got severed in the accident which could not be fixed so we had to amputate her right front leg. She recovered very quickly though and it never affected her. She would even swim and run and do everything normal. When I had to put her to sleep, again, I balled my eyes out because I loved her. We have her buried out at a local pet cemetery that I still visit every now and then. Here is a picture of her when she was getting kind of old. Like Pongo, I don't have a lot of pictures of her when she was younger.

Right after we moved out to Sterling in 03' the following April, my wife had a stray dog come up to her at work. It was a Shih-tzu that was maybe a year old tops but had been on the street for a while. Her hair was all matted and her health was failing. It was snowing and freezing cold outside and the dog was also starving. My wife caught her, called me and begged me to let us keep her. Me being a softy, I said yes. We got her spayed, shaved and nursed back to health and she has been with us ever since. 9 years almost to the day. Her name is Sadie and even though she is the smallest of our 4 dogs we currently have, she rules the roost. Once Jett died, she became the alpha dog. Here she is when we first got her and what she looks like now. And yes, we need to take her to the groomers right now.

Our next dog that we got was Cleatus. He is a Chocolate lab. We got him after we had to put Jett to sleep. He is a very good dog that is great with the kids. Sadie rules the roost but Cleatus is kind of the body guard of the family. He is a friendly dog but would protect if needed too. Here he is.

He knew in this pic he was not supposed to be on the couch but we woke up before he did and caught him. What we saw was too funny though not to take a picture of so we did.

Our next dog is a Yellow lab named Ellie. We also found her as a stray as a puppy. I named her Ellie, because she is dumb and blonde like the Clampet girl. She is actually a very sweet dog who is great with the kids. My daughter found her and she followed her home. We kept her for about 2 weeks looking for the owner and calling the pound. 2 weeks later, the owner found her in our yard so we gave her back to him. However, because she was only about 6 months old, she kept jumping the fence and getting out. His other dogs were mean to her because she was to hyper. The guy was watching the dog for his Grandson who was overseas in the war. Every time the dog would get out, she would come to our house. I guess the guy talked to his Grandson and he said to ask if we wanted the dog. My kids begged me to say yes and in all honesty, I really like her too. The wife didn't but we won out. The only thing that bums me out is she started having seizures about 6 months ago so she now has to take medicine for the rest of her life. Here she is.

Our final dog is Bruce. He is a Japanese Chin. When my wife was going through chemotherapy, some friends of ours gave us Bruce as a puppy. The breed Chin's and said they make good cuddle dogs or companion dogs. I didn't want the dog but wasn't going to say no to my wife considering whatever it was she needed to get through cancer treatment, I was going to do. Bruce is an interesting dog. He may be homosexual because all he ever wants to do is hump Cleatus. Cleatus is not okay with that! Well, lately he has been trying to get with Ellie but she is not down with that either. She is into real dogs like Cleatus. All of our female dogs are fixed but Bruce still wants to hump the two bigger dogs for some reason.

    Here he is.

it's not a sex thing. He's trying to dominate the other dogs.

My dogs do it to others on occasion. I just tell them to stop and make sure they do and they go back to playing.

    Good looking dogs

I know what it is but I also like to tease my wife about her dog. :D

With Cleatus, I believe he stopped trying to hump him simply because Cleatus' snout is about the entire size of Bruce and Cleatus would snap at him when Bruce would try and make the moves. Ellie on the other hand just looks at him like, "Really?"

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
    Well, King's 1st vet checkup was on April 1---weighing 8.8 lbs @ 8 weeks.

Today, I took King for his 2nd checkup---he NOW tips the scale at 15.8 lbs @ 11 weeks. He got his his distemper/parvo booster shot, 2nd and final puppy Bordetella(kennel cough) shot, and had them cut his nails down. My vet said he's VERY healthy.

Only bad part, I've gotta get a bigger traveling kennel now :( lol. He is stuffed in that thing.

Not sure if any of you are shelling out the cash for Orijen dog food, but I cannot say enough about how truly good this stuff is!! King was previously on Blue Buffalo Puppy. It wasn't BAD food at all, but his coat seemed to exhibit a lot flakes on some days, really annoying. His coat was healthy, just had flakes on some days! I've always been good about weekly brushing all the dogs I've ever owned, and King is no different.

So I started to tackle this coat flaking issue from the "inside" first---his diet. I slowly phased him out of Blue Buffalo Puppy into Orijen Puppy in a 2 week span of time to avoid diarrhea/belly discomfort. It was like I pimped out my puppy haha. His coat is 100% flake free, SUPER healthy, and very shiny---and his energy has skyrocketed(but still very much controllable for a puppy his age)! I am a firm believer in Orijen now, and don't mind spending a little more for it. Thank goodness there is a small pet "boutique" in my town that stocks it.

If you can afford Orijen, don't look back! I'm not!

Here is King from the vet's office today:

Bye bye blue/green puppy eyes!! His ambers are settling in.

Amazon has it for $75/30lb bag.

Talk to your vet about novel proteins. There are lots of ways to get a good quality diet for your pup that will help with skin issues and are grain free.

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
Haha thanks, he's def the main office distraction when I take him to our vet. TOTW is a premium kibble as well! I fed that to my old blue nose pitbull, she LOVEDDD it.

Thanks man! Any pics of these shelties? I'm a sucker for herding breeds lol(esp. shelties, border collies, and aussies)...just could never own one bc I really don't own the vast land I would want to let them free roam. :(

Haha! Thank goodness I have been doing my best to nip those future problems in the bud NOW. Crate training has def established an exiting pattern for him, so he knows now through clues(leash being attached, me putting my shoes on etc) that it's time to pee/poop OUTSIDE. He's almost got it down to clockwork, only exception these days is when we play a little too much and I forget he's still an 11 week old puppy so an accident may happen. So far this week, we are accident free lol.

I'm going to be doing plenty of obedience training supplemented with agility/weight pull work so I can harness the gameness and drive his bloodline typically has.

I tell people to come visit him now when he's cute lol---bc they're either gonna love him or want to run away from him just off of looks when he's full grown. For reference, this is his father:

King is def showing glimpses of Tito(father) these days haha:

    32320135810_zpscad9dbea_65fc6929aee7f2eb800f946117b0caac91a05cce.jpg

    lol

Yeah I've spoken to the vet as well as the breeder, and a local UKC APBT & AKC Am Staffy breeder and they told both me to simply start first with adding fish oil -or- even a teaspoon of olive oil to his food 2-3 times weekly. The only reason I was using Blue Buffalo was to make sure his belly stayed happy prior to transitioning out to my preference food. I originally was planning to phase him into TOTW or Acana, but my friend who breeds/shows champion border collies highly recommended Orijen as kind of an "end all" feed---no supplements needed aside from regular feeding. In the 2 weeks he's been on Orijen, I really don't think I need anything else extra which is wonderful!

Here is video from last night at King's puppy preschool---- the last puppy play session of the evening(2 total). King is the youngest in his class, but thankfully has finally caught up quickly in size lol. He was originally in the "smaller dog" play area but after the 1st 1-2 mins of play, they trainers decided to move him into the "big puppy" play area simply for the reason that his playing style seemed to be a bit too much for the pups his size since he's very much a terrier....very vocal and uses arms/paws during play. He had the Corgie and the Beagle puppy both "submitting" on their backs for no reason other than being very vocal lol. They moved him into a big puppy play area with some poodle mix and a white lab, both females! He loves bitches, and bitches love King! LOL
