I have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab. Are toppers universal for certain years of Toyotas? I found a used Leer topper for a 2005 double cab Toyota...not sure if it'd fit my truck or not. Any insight?

I can't answer 100% but just make sure it isn't off a double cab short bed. Obviously wouldn't fit then as you have a 6' bed and a short bed is 5'. If it is a double cab long bed, it is possible as both beds are 6'. I'm not sure, however, if the cabs are different. Someone smarter than me will have to answer this half of the question.

Does the cab size matter at all how the topper would fit next to the rear window?

LEER Shell with dome lights operated with 3 way switches, aux backup lights with relay and 3 position switch, modified wiring to compass/temp display and clock to include switch that disables dimming function (poor man's DRL solution), Scan Gauge 2
The Leer dealer I bought mine from told me that the 2nd gen Access and Double cabs are the same, assuming they are both the same bed length. He said the regular cab is slightly different, and there is a different model number for the regular cab.

Some bilsteins, OME 885's, and an AAL.
Bingo. As long as the bed length is correct and it's not off a regular cab you'll be golden.

So far just a tailgate light bar and replaced the backup lights with LEDsl Eventually I'd like to put a topper on it but not many options out there yet. I'm leaning towards a Hi-rise type just for the room. But then again it would be nice to keep the truck in the garage :)
So now the problem is with the third generation......not many manufacturers have produced much in options for the '16-. I have a '17 dbl cab, 5' bed and have been looking. Any suggestions here as far as toppers???

I have had a leer for almost a year. Just seal the front of the bed before it goes on.
