Yes, C or D would be lighter, but they don't exist in those sizes.

    this and that...
just bought some duratracs for my 4runner. im hoping the 265/70/17 is gonna look good on my 17x9 xd hoss. the stock 265/65/17 fits on there, small kine stretch if any. my 4runner has 5100 front and rear with the trd OR spring up front. didnt want to do any cutting whatsoever on this vehicle since my girl drives this one.

EDIT (post merge): threw up a pic on my 4r and i like the look a lot. bullaculla, yeah i thought it was gonna looks stretched out, but looks pretty good in my book. no qualms about it, im pleased with the purchase and it was only 900 installed, which caught me off guard cause i wasnt expect it to be this cheap.

    Howzit braddah! :D
According to Tirerack, the rim width for the duratrac 265/70/17 is 7-8.5 inches. The tread width is 8.2, but the section width is 10.7, so it shouldn't look too stretched out. You'd still have to worry about your lip getting scratched tho, since it won't have much protection.

Noticed today that the outside part of tread wasn't making solid contact with the pavement. The tire was at 39 psi. I know another member was having the same issues as well. Is the best solution to lower tire pressure?

what size are yours? I've got 285's load range e and they seem to like around 33-35psi, unless towing, then I bump em up to 40

Mine are the same way around 35 psi. I'd rather keep it around 35 psi than to lose anymore mpg.

I've also noticed that mine have feathered (feathered in the direction of travel, not from bad alignment). I'm rotating every 2500 miles to try and keep them even.

I have had them for 1-1/2 years. Still look good even with the rocks I run on. Not as blocky as the BFGs. I am thinking they will go 60k. Mine do not have tread wear guarantee. They do not have the ply count that the BFGs have but they seem to be just as tough.

trust me they ride much better and are quietr. Discount mistakenly put a set of MTRs on mine when I had specified the Duratracs. I could have kept the MTRs and would have on one of my Ford 4x4s. They were a little stout for my Prerunner.

That's about where I run um. I tried going up to 40psi as some have suggested but I don't like the ride and the wear that way.

    this and that...
suprisingly, my duratracs (265/70/17 load range: c) make more road noise than my destination m/t (285/75/16 load range: e). which even caught me off guard cause i was expecting my m/ts to make noise, but no, its super quiet, like a street tire LOL. not to say that the duratracs are loud, you only have that slight hum while coming to a stop and initial acceleration. not loud or overbearing by any means.

Cosmetic stuff.... best part HomerTaco Raptor Grille. Need to get a lift, armor and lockers.
I did a little a trip and this is what I came up with...

They worked great in Nebraska snow/ice
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366472903.903842.jpg

    Straight through Wyoming red mud/dirt
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366472970.255332.jpg

    High elevations of Wyoming
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366473061.133014.jpg

Handled the salt flats of Utah
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366473004.042268.jpg

Death Valley sand and rocks. Had to cross two small sand dunes because I took one of those "this could be a road" roads
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366473135.760109.jpg

And last night I went through a bit of Yogi on my way to Breckenridge. Overall they were great and throughout the trip I was getting 18-19 mpg. Aside from the stretch between Salt Lake City and Wendover (Bonneville Salt Flats) where I got 13 due to high head winds and from St George Nevada to Torrey Utah where I got 20 due to a tail wind.
