Late morning to all!

 

I asked this question in another thread but I'll ask it here, can I just replace the pulley on the tensioner or do I really have to replace the whole damn thing?

Typically it comes as an assembly and the pulley is ne replacable cause we are to dumb to deal with the spring tension

 

Sounds like something I'd avoid

I can tell you these tires crawl up curbs like nobody's business!!!

It'll be different for sure but they aren't that skinny. Just a hair narrower than my 265's that I wheeled with for a long time

 

Do they even make the pulley available separately

Nah, I'll hang in there for a while with this truck... I'm just getting irritated fixing a truck that's been babied it's entire life.

Sounds like it's not a job that can be done with the tensioner in place anyways. I'll buy the assembly and see if I get lucky and don't have to replace it.

Even though they're thinner, won't the taller tire not improve your gas mileage?

Don't think so. Probably have to find a donor to get one. Or look at just replacing the bearing

it will improve some.. there is less drag since there is less tire in contact with the road while he is driving

 

Not that's specifically called out, but I'm sure I could find the pulley.

 

If you need to take the alt off . It's easier to do it from the drivers wheel well . Just take the mud flaps off. And it's right there. It's still a pain in the ass .
