Devin! I have a cb and a roof rack and bed cover... Maybe I should redo my original post! haha

I honestly can't get myself to spend the money on Weathertechs / okoles. If I lived in a more rainy / muddy area then maybe...

Hahah sorry I'm on my phone and feeding my daughter. Get a winch then, I had the xrc 8 and will buy it again.

    Good ideas there.
Interesting. You might have some gold there Ost. You should make them bid for it. :D
    Good ideas!

Austin in regards to the SC. What do you like to do with the truck? Off road, explore, or street race? The cost of an SC could easily go much further with things like lockers, gears, or other smaller mods. Personally I do not see an immediate benefit to an SC on the 2nd Gens. I might have one some day but it is rather far down the list for me.

Now on a 1st Gen... they need one so they can keep up with us 2nd Gens on the highway. :D

If you want to drop some big coin right now I say lockers. If you are looking a bit more conservative I would say winch, round out the recovery gear (straps, tree saver, snatch block, and so on) and if you have funds left go for a shackle flip for the exact reason Ben stated. With my past rig it was Open/Open but I got most places because of my flexy rear suspension. :)

Eric... there's no way I would or could buy a SC. I drive pretty slow until I get up to speed. But, I think that you are pretty much right on. winch-flip-maybe locker. I am not sure what install costs through the Toyota whisperer... but I have been looking at Yukon's Zip locker but it isn't available right now. If I can save up I would love to do an ARB or ZIP. But, I would also entertain the idea of a detroit.

How much money are you looking to spend? That would give us a better idea of what kind of stuff to suggest.

    Well...

I just put in wallpaper for my wife so I think I could do 300 on the XRC8. Over a grand on the locker may take more than wall paper. Plus, I don't have a grand plus install

When I got my locker I asked jace of he wanted to do it for me and since the gearing setup is pretty intense he said he didn't want to do it (never do e it before so I don't blame him).

Winch and build yourself a good bag of recovery gear.
