Again, yes. If not for the antenna, for the uber cheap price tag. I'm all over this one. Been looking for a affordable S-10 all my life. Hehe.

Not to mention that it won't pass smog in California with that engine, so the new owner will never be able to transfer title.

    seriously worth about 300 bucks.

Also that motor is probably seized up from sitting without being turned.

Do EPA smog requirements not have a cutoff date in CA? Just wondering.

    Just emoticon...

My only advise for the OP is to post on CL or something, hate to see people use TW as a free ad specially on their first post. It takes less time to post an add on CL than to get a TW membership and post an ad.

1974.. and California doesn't care about the EPA... we have "CARB"... California Air Resources Board... they are more restrictive than the EPA, which is why there are "49-state" cars... though a lot of northeastern standards have caught up to California, and all current Toyotas are 50-state.

Anything 1975 and newer is not exempt.
It was originally a 25 year exemption, but when it hit 1975 in 2000, they halted it. Nice that the classic musclecars are now exempt, but it sucks that if you have something newer (and face it, pretty much anything from 1975 to 1990 was shit) and want to swap in a new engine, you have to follow the rules.

A 350 COULD be smog legal in that truck, provided:
1 - The 350 came from another vehicle 1983 or newer
2 - ALL original emissions equipment from the donor vehicle was transferred with it
3 - Owner takes it to a smog ref, who will verify the above, and from that point on, the truck would be tested to the original smog specifications of the donor car.

But the OP's 350 has a carb... it's not even a TBI intake. No clue, or way to verify what it came from. I see an EGR blockoff plate on the intake, open breather oil cap, and I don't think that trick air-cooling system will fly. Even Harley is moving into liquid cooling because of smog regs.

Engine and trans could be cleaned up and used depending on what elements it's been in and how long, if so I'd pay $300 for them the rest is scrap. Sub'd for additional shinanigans n such.

Good info. I've put a couple Gen IV GM motors in FJ-62's and Gen III's in FJ-40's and multiple Jeeps( retaining EGR's & PCV's etc.) Even though they are much "newer" smog compliant motors, we don't have emission inspections around here and I was curious to see how it was in your area, Thanks again
