The driver side access door handle must be pulled hard occasionally to release the latch. I pulled the handle panel, but did not see any way of adjusting the linkage, short of bending it, or any way to adjust the cables from there. Any tips on what to do?

Do I need to pull the door panel? Is there a simple adjustment that can be made at the upper and lower latches? When I told the dealer about the issue, they said they adjusted the catch, which made no difference, so I'd prefer to just get it done, myself. Seems the cables are too loose.

    Thanks

I noticed that on my access cab 2008 as well. I forgot it and didn't care anymore

slight thread drift, question in addition to OPs:

passenger side door on my 2012 AC you need to slam it harder than drivers door for it to shut all the way... is this something i can adjust as well?

Are all of your doors and windows closed when you try this? It's because of the weather seals. On newer vehicles they're quite good, causing you to have to slam the doors a little bit harder than you would like to. They will wear in eventually.

    Yep.
IIRC the catches at the bottom can be adjusted. Should be a large TQ bit like the bed bolts.

they are. the truck has about 14,000 miles on it already though. the drivers side closes with normal force. just the passenger side needs to be slammed. theres a latch on the AC door, with Torx screws, maybe i'll slide that out a smidgen.

to the OP, just like the above post said there is a door catch on the bottom door sill, you can try adjusting that. move it in very small increments, maybe it will relieve the pressure on the latch.

The problem is in the handle linkage and cable assembly. way too loose. Does not begin to engage until about 1/2 way through the handle pull. The passenger side opens by the time you are 1/2 way through the pull. Any known cable adjustments, or is it back to the dealer?
