hypothetical situation, let's say you're buying an industrial powder coating oven, do you:

a) pick one at random with no regard for silly things like supply voltage
b) verify the buildings supply voltage with your electrician
c) get mad at your electrician because he now has to order a ~$3000 transformer to make it work
d) go fuck yourself

Is the oven 2 phase or 3 phase? Sounds like 3 phase.

 

3ph. the supply voltage is 277/480V, the motors (15HP, 2HP, and .75 HP) on the oven are rated for 575V.

 

Jeez. That would blow something really quick.

 

As you know I am not an electrician but I doubt that you could wire the oven up to a 2 phase electric box and make it work properly.

 

you could do it with a VFD, but that's not very practical.
for future reference what you call "2 phase" is actually single phase.
