the back seat is beyond a joke unless the front passengers move their fronts seats up quite a bit. I measured... just over 4 inches of space for your legs (space between the back seat and front seat) when the front seat is in it's normal position. the numbers don't lie. sadly, all Toyota had to do was make the back seat adjustable so it would slide back a bit. Just a horrible, horrible design. It's by far the top problem I have with it. It seems it's really meant to be a two seater (for all practical purposes since there's so little space behind the back seat) that can carry more if needed. Only my access cab has less space for passengers...

Why do people complain about AWD? It is better for MANY conditions. When is 2WD/4WD EVER better?
I would love AWD in my tacoma, far too easy to spin coming off a stoplight in the wet.

Well AWD lacks the 2 speed transfer case thus making it great for wet or icey roads but lousy for off road. It doesnt give the low gear power of a 4x4 that you need to climb rocks or get out of deep mud. So AWD is great for a mall crawler in the great white north but just doesnt cut it for the off road community.

Not to mention how crappy the mpg's must be running in AWD all the time.

My buddy has an 08 FJ and I have the Taco. We have wheeled many times in the FJ (which is stock) and few in the Taco. The FJ is a solid beast on the trails, and for a trail truck it is what you want. Plain and simple the FJ was actually designed as an off road vehicle and for the Taco it is an afterthought. We had both trucks out together last weekend and the only difference we came across on the easy trails we did was that the turning radius of the FJ was better. I love having a pick up and couldn't do without it.

I just left my built 07 FJ for a 13 DCSB in super white. Love the truck and I loved my FJ too. Some days I miss it some I dont. The only thing that sucked was the suicide doors IMO. Honestly wish I coudve kept it and the taco. Oh well.....

I bought mine with plans of making it look. I thought they looked a little girly stock. The day I got it home I installed lift. ordered bumper, wheels and ties within a month. Huge difference in appearance.

I drove one for a while while my Tacoma was laid up.

I really didn't like the poor visibility (blind spots).

I had an 07 FJ 6 spd and now have a 13 Taco DC 6 sod. Same engine and tranny. Loved my FJ, unique and fun to drive. Only reason I got rid of it was towing. Towing my 21 ft boat, at 4000-4500 lbs. was a chore in FJ. Mostly because the short wheelbase. I'm not going to get more pwr with taco, but longer wheel base will help a bunch.

The biggest gripe I heard with FJ was rear visibility, however when towing I can't see out back anyway, so I'm used to relying on my side mirrors and they are bigger on FJ than Taco. I drove my FJ up to Killington, VT in a blizzard, and it plowed through everything, that was fun.

Dang that almost sounds like too much for all of our trucks. Our 4 runner is only rated for 4000 lb towing I believe.

I call BS. unless the seat if over half way back there is a lot more then 4” of space. i can sit behind my buddy who is, 5’10” and i am fin. and there is still more then 4” of space for legs and feet. so idk how or where you are getting this from.

Because the only way to get the 6 speed manual is if you get it with All Wheel Drive. Where's the fun in that???

call bs all you want. my tape measure doesn't lie.

hard to know what you're saying... when I had the passengers seat back in the normal sitting position i'd be in, I made the measurement. Yes, IF you move the seat forward (where it wouldn't normally be for me), then you'll have more room. there was more leg room in my 2001 DC by far for the rear passengers.
