    Hey all, just a little shout-out-type self-promotion...

I'm sitting in with the band "Group Therapy" this Saturday evening at Molly's Bar in Tijeras Canyon; we start at around 5:30 & play until 9pm. It's a really great band; we have lots of fun together and so does the audience. They let me sit in when their regular keyboard player is unavailable. Molly's is a fun place to hang out, too; hopefully the weather will allow us to play outside on the patio.

If anyone does show up, come up by the stage & let me know you're there; I'll buy you a beer.

Sorry to all the under-21's on here.

Need opinions on CB antenna mount location. This is the easiest and has the most support structure around it:

    IMG_0542_zps98628e6e_66b3929846139f1ec768dbe222ab3e5c5ebae775.jpg

Yay or nay? Other option is smack in the middle of the TRD sticker. A lot less support there.

Exactly haha this is the 5th time my date has changed in 4 months!

I still say that you try to find the mount that bolts to the tailgate latch between the bed and the tailgate. No drilling and in pretty much in the same general area.

    Edit*

Found it, Jerry made the one I was talking about...

At least you don't have to worry about stop-loss. I was stop-lossed once then it got lifted only to miss an new stop-loss date by 3 days. Long story short I got out at my original ETS date.

Kinda makes me feel old when I tell my old war stories. It's been almost 10 years since I was in Iraq.

Just PM him. It wouldn't surprise me if he fabbed one up for you real quick and sold it to you cheap. He's a really good guy to deal with.

I told myself I don't throw caution to the wind enough so I threw caution to the wind. The wind immediately blew caution back into my face.

I got it installed. Check my build thread. After going through the actual install, not too happy with the actual mount kit. Found a few nit-noids that would be easily fixed with a couple cents worth of extra nuts and nylon inserts. Getting to Lowe's tomorrow to pick those up and hopefully this thing will be rock-solid afterwards.

My antennae is on the rear passenger and even with my camper/rack/hi-lift on my SWR is around 1.2 all through out the channels

I found a write-up that gave the best two places to mount the antenna. The first being the roof which gives the 360* ground plane. The second option was the driver side rear stake hole which I gathered was due to the distance from the cab (parallel surface).

With what I had, I chose the rear stake hole or closest approximation. So I'm stuck with what I got but might be getting out the bondo. I walked through the install and thought I made a good choice. After actually doing it, a few shortcomings popped up. Hopefully I can find a couple nuts and the right sized nylon sleeve and I think I can fix them.

    Such is life.

Right... For a on road vehical not too big of a deal, but if you flex that boot too much the heads of the zip ties are going to make new holes/tears.

What are your thoughts of adding a 3" procomp lift before adding wheels. Would that look strange. Or should I go with wheels first. Only have enough for one right now. Any advice would be appreciated.
