PM2 is a good choice and rather hard to find right now from what I have seen on bladeforums

i like serrations. cutting stuff like thick rope or a seatbelt..zip! done.

i met a benchmade employee guy. he hated to admit it, but he did. he said a spyderco sharpmaker will do a GREAT job keeping the serration parts sharp. he was right. i dont always sharpen the serrations, but will do it every three times.

i needed my knife for potential emergency stuff. one time i had to quickly slash a 1" rope. i stunned the miners i was working with. their lame knives couldnt do it. just screamed, "move!" one swipe. the rope was freed and disaster averted.

probably still no, because they take special equipment to sharpen....and they ruin the lines of the blade in my opinion. I love my sebenza 21, and it is my favorite folding knife...ever (probably until I get a 25), but if it had serrations, I would not like it near as much. A sharp fine edge will cut just as good in most (not all, i will admit that) cases.

the only time I have ever liked serrations are on the fully serrated spydercos (if I could sharpen them) and on my ZT0350. Another big complaint I have about them is where they are on the blade (close to the handle), I like to the base of my blade for a lot of things, and with a serrated edge, I can't. plus a fine edge gives a cleaner cut usually (when sharp)

I like half serrations, for just in case.

my 950's serrations are stupid sharp, actually used it to cut wire before

I like both for various reasons. I use mine at work everyday as cutting plastic strapping and a straight blade wont do it as quickly where as my part serrated blade goes right thru it. The straight blade is great for cardboard boxes and opening bagged items. Here is what I have for sharpening my serrations on all of my serrated blades.

I prefer plain edge for the simple fact that serrations are a PIA to sharpen. Anyways, a properly sharp edge will cut just as well or better than serrations.

Serrations come in handy when your knife is dull and need those teeth to bite.

Just got this for free from a friend who didn't want it. Probably use this as daily carry now and keep the kershaw in the truck.

this simple equation says you're incorrect. sorry. serrations offer a much smaller cutting "area" (surface)..so shear goes up. :D i am 90% sure i am correct. hehee.
