Idaho BS thread in the PNW

There are 2.7 double cabs out there. Very few though. I'd say his is definitely a v6 being a double cab and SR5.

 

I don't know if that is true for sure. Someone was saying that earlier in this thread when they were talking about whether this one was a V6 or not.

Hmm... I want to say that all 2nd gen TRD's are V6's but I can't remember now. haha That and 2012+ things get a little screwy too... One of my wife's classmates bought a 2012 or 2013 (not sure which) that is a DCLB but not a TRD and for 2005-2011's only TRD Sports came in DCLB.

so check this out, found a few trds within a reasonable distance that are salvaged I can but, andys buddy has bought vehicles off here for like 300 bucks. and I know I could sell it to a scrap yard for 300 bucks when im done anyway. So just finding one that is relativley close and it looks like the axle is undamaged

so im really looking at this one. yes it looks brutally fucked up. however it looks all middle of cab and frame. As you can see my logic is if the tires all still have air in them and are inflated there can't have been enough damage to damage the axle. The front is in tact so there are 2 replacement cv axles as well. Also salt lake is about the closest out of the trucks in the auction, and the auction is over 5/3 so that give me enough time to get it before moab. also the vehicle is in such rough shape i doubt many people will be bidding on it so the price will be pretty low.

Yup, he sure did! It is a gorgeous rig, I saw it myself first, I referred it to Monte later. Really pretty. Though the headlights, don't match, what's the deal with that, Monte?

I drove by Dorms on my way to a shop near there, and I saw the Taco parked there around 4:45 PM, and an hour later, you have her home! That's a quick sale!

Though, who am I to to talk, it's gonna cost me $174 to get my rusty hole patched up. It's now done, but now I can't take my rig home until I get paid again, I'm poor! If I had a nickel for every time I wished I had more "free" money, I would be rich. haha

(to clarify, I'm not touching my savings I have saved for the future - I do have the money, but it's locked away for college, which is a good thing!)

Well if need be I can take my dads truck and trailer it back, but I'm not planning on it actually. If I do it right I am hoping I can strip what i want at Ian's shop in salt lake and scrap it there in Utah

I'm having Ben (smkd13) check it out next week, should be jus as the auction is ending. All the other trucks are like 8 hours away, so this one would be perfect since its a reasonable drive

ya man. if the truck checks out its lookin like it might all happen. Even if I have to trailer it back, itll be like 100 bucks in gas, and most of the cost of that and the truck will be covered when i scrap it (pretty sure i can get 300 for it) and sell any extra parts. I want to keep a cv or 2, maybe sell one, maybe the seats?

andy (who will of course help my do the re gear) said he sees nothing wrong with the plan, since ill have to sort of rebuild it any way when i re gear it to 4.56s. and i trust the guy with pretty much everything automotive related ever haha. so if he thinks its a good idea and the price is right (and the axle isn't fucked) i might be locking the taco for 200 bucks.

I don't think you answered this before but are you buying a whole 3rd, or just the ring and pinion from Jerry?
