Yes, those sensors suck to install. I put them on my truck a few years ago and my back end looked similar.

This vehicles not even pre wired like most fords and many other makes. It's overall easier for the dealers (me right now) to install accessories and easier at the plant so every vehicle is wired the same. Thats my opinion

 

Makes perfect sense plus saves making more different kinds of wiring harnesses on the line as well.

 

It books 8 hours. I'm 2 hours In and 85% done. I had the hourly kid pull all the trim and bumper off.

 

I hear ya, mine had nothing. I had to tap the reverse lights for the trigger, drill the bumper and run all the wires from the sensors into the cab, bury a small speaker for the beeps and I never hooked up the visual aid thing since it looks cheesy in my opinion.

 

So you only went partial nanny mode haha..

 

Tell you what, those sensors are nice for parallel parking in a tight spot and not having to 'park by touch' like most of the clowns driving in this city! It's especially nice with the shell because it's raining or snowing, I can't see shit out my back window.

 

There is a on/off button and the instructions said to put it in a weird spot. I put it right under the interior side trunk light so it's easily scene

 

Very true with a double cab, and of course the shell. It makes me laugh when subcompact cars have that kind of stuff.

And yes either way driving in the city is a different animal.
