Picked these up from the local hardware store for $36 each. I guess we'll see how good (or bad) they are. :anonymous:

If so, I'll give them to you

remove them and drill a really small hole on the top of the light and the bottom on the backside...most modern lights are vented and normally a really small hole keeps you from build up condensation inside

If you aren't throwing a code, than I wouldn't mess with it. But as I have read, that is a sign of a bad one when you can hear or see carbon bouncing around.

Finally finish scraping the black spray paint off of the rear window of my topper. Upon a recommendation here, I went and purchased a "graffiti remover" from Home Depot.

It worked great! I didn't want to just spray it all over the window, so I applied it to a cloth and applied that to a section at a time. It softened the paint so much that I could scrape away very quickly whatever I had soaked with the remover spray.

And here it is after all of the scraping, but before I cleaned all of the residue away with the same remover spray.

I can really see how this spray would be great for removing overspray from painting projects...and I have my wheel painting coming up, so it'll come in handy for that ;)

And on the subject of removing paint from toppers...has anyone ever removed the side windows from a topper??? I see many hex heads around the perimeter of the windows on the inside...I'm thinking that's what I need to remove to get them out.

I'm also thinking I would like screens since we may be using the truck for camping purposes...wonder if I could install that while I have the windows out for paint removal.

    Screens are easy to install

Just buy the screen of your choice, cut it to size overlapping a bit on all sides, and spline that fits the groove of the window frame. You can either use a screwdriver or get a spline tool (much easier to use and cheap) and then roll the spline into the groove with the screen getting pinched underneath.

Here's the walkthrough for a patio door... same principle
