Ladder bar is a good option. I just don't think anyone has made one yet for a Tacoma.

I ordered the Hellwig ez-550 helper I hope this will take care of the wrap. The problem started after Toyota TSB new springs they then installed a new drive shaft. At this point I am sorry that I purchased this $36 thousand dollar Toyota Tacoma. After this try it's time to trade it in for a real truck.

AAL will help with axle wrap, and allow ur truck to carry its factory rated payload better.

Id suggest a progressive AAL like Icon or wheelers.

You do know any rwd drive-line with torque will have axle wrap right? and that it has nothing to do with being a "real truck" or not.

The real question is how are you driving the truck that you experience wrap so often that you think the truck is garbage.......?

Once that's determined it's easier to find a solution.

Traction bar. I'd recommend against the BudBuilt as it levers on the differential housing studs. Get a custom unit or RuffStuff's kit and have it fitted to your vehicle.

I also don't care for the procomp for a couple reasons:

    1) It's made by procomp.
    2) It kills clearance.

Excuse my ignorance here, but how do you know if you have axle wrap? I mean, I know what it is, and what it looks like, but how can you feel it from the cab? Especially on a brand new stock vehicle where the presence of wrap should be minimal to none... What does it feel like and what type of long term damage can it create?

I have it know after I installed my Alcans. The best way to describe it is when you come to a stop as soon as you feel the truck settle from stopping the forward momentum, you will feel like someone hit your rear bumper with a rubber mallet.

yeah I understand all that, my problem is this whole shudder problem. I had no issue with wrap until Toyota replaced the springs this issue has been ongoing since I purchased this truck in 12/11. Yes I am Ford man and I know this is a Toyota forum I get it. But when a person spends their money on a product they want it to work. These trucks have been around awhile Toyota has cut corners and yes Ford's are not perfect. Before Toyota installed the new drive shaft they already had $4,000 into this. Anyone who is dealing with this issue like myself I'm sure has had enough. Toyota is boneing buyers of these trucks, sad thing is Toyota boned me in 1983 with a new pick up long before the Tacoma but I came back, and if Toyota would read this by any chance you won't get me again. I will back to the blue oval.

Toyota leaf springs have always been rather floppy. Makes for a nice ride and good flex on the trail, but leaves them open to axle wrap and cargo carrying issues.

All makes have their foibles. This is one of ToMoCo's.

This has helped my take off vibration. Not gone, but much better.

I'd see if the u bolts are properly tigthtened. If the problem didn't arise till you had the TSB springs, then it has something to do with those springs..

I just added my 3 leaf AAL and while I was there, I torqued my u bolts to 100 ftlbs, which I think is quite a bit more than required IIRC. My take off vibes are now almost nonexistent. Not sure which actually helped, but I'd tighten up those u bolts and see if you notice a difference.
