I'm not sure what years they started adding the JBL audio package but I wanted to know how many users here bought it with their truck and what they think of it! Thanks! I'm curious if it would've been worth it to buy it for my '13.

I enjoy my factory JBL sound system w/ ENTUNE in my 2012, I have no plans of upgrading, Although I am not into systems by any means. The factory JBL surpasses the premium Bose system in my old 370z.

Our used '06 DC TRD Sport came with the JBL package. It sounds good enough that I doubt I will bother making any mods to it. We were surprised at how good the radio is--pulls in lots more stations than our old Honda Ridgeline.

I had the JBL sound system in my '09 Tacoma. With my one ear it sounded the best of all of the OEM upgraded systems that I have had including an '08 Accord EX-L, and both JBL systems in my wife's '08 RAV4 Limited and my '09 Highlander Limited. The smaller confines of the double cab really works in its favor. If you are over the age of 30 and you aren't a huge audiophile or boom boom lover it will be a nice addition.

Have no complaints. I listened to it and the stock and preferred it. No intention of upgrading either. Only thing I did was add the I-pod control cable that allows you to control it through the steering wheel.

I have it in my 2011. It's ok. It doesn't take much for the speaker to distort though.

It's not bad for stock. It's much better than the stock premium Alpine system that came in my 2010 Ram HD. That one sounded bloated with a lack of definition.

The JBL sounds fairly clear and musical with a surprisingly hefty mid-bass punch and the lower notes are about as defined as I could expect with a stock system. Ofcourse it's nothing like a nice amplified quality subwoofer set-up.

For the past 25 years, I'm used to having high-end audiophile systems, so I know what kind of sound I want. I'm not content with the JBL and will most likely have this one upgraded soon with all my equipment.

I'd really like to hear the ultra high dollar Dynaudio system that comes with the higher end VW's and I think Audi's.

I think the JBL system sounds great, but I hate the HD radio. There are a few stations in my area that have it, and I turn it off every time I swap to those stations. It sounds like it has too much treble or something.
I wish there was a way to permanently turn off HD radio without having to do it every time I change to that radio station.

I agree with the above poster that said this system is probably the best stock system I've heard in a vehicle.

I have the JBLa in my truck. Sounds great except for the rattles. There must be others who have the same rattles from near the oem sub. How do you deal with it?

I'm completely happy with this setup and I like the factory look. It sounds great and I haven't had it loud enough to hear any distortion.

Hated mine. Wasn't long before I replaced everything. I had issues with mine from the get go. Multiple trips to the dealer to have it fixed. After replacing the JBL amp three times, and constantly having issues with sound and subwoofer problems, I replaced it all.

It's pretty good. The rear door speakers SUCK! I plan on replacing those soon. And to be honest, I thought the XM sounded like crap when I had it turned on. I have a plug and play Sirius radio that I have used in several different 18 wheelers, and my last vehicle (Chevy Tahoe) and it sounded better than the stock XM radio in the Taco. But the sound from CD's/radio/aux input is pretty good for a stock system.

Yeah, I know that. If I ever get another dry Saturday here, I'm gonna hit a few junkyards and see if I can find a truck with the JBL system. I'll pull the front speakers and put them in my back doors (if there's room), and hopefully find a couple of D rings for my bed as well

Unfortunately that wont work. They are different sizes and use different mounting points.

Well that sucks. Guess I'll have to buy some good aftermarket ones then. What size are the rear door speakers? I'm guessing 6"?

Yep. Mine sounded muffled as well. Never sounded clear like I knew it should. I don't drive my truck enough to justify keeping XM on. Had it 7 1/2 months and only put 5300 miles on it. I drive my work truck back and forth to work, so it saves the miles on the Taco.

Don't have a problem with mine. However I did notice when my ipod is plugged into the AUX, the speakers on occasion sound like they're blown even at low volumes (mid-teens). This only happens with my ipod and not iphone.
