    This.

Following up: I'm a moderately serious audio-type (primarily 2-channel at home) and I'm happy with the JBL/Entune unit in my '12. I may fiddle around with some aftermarket speakers some day, but I'm not in any hurry. With the knowledge that (1) this is a truck and (2) the environment in almost any vehicle sucks for trying to get a good, smooth response curve and accurate sound, JBL has done a good job.

Yeah, my truck rattles pretty bad too. The driver's door rattle a lot as well. Someday I may get some dynamat to fix it.

For the Op though, the system does sound great....not sure if it's worth the $2k it costs, you could probably spend half that with aftermarket and have as good or better.

Well I just bought mine & it came with a Sony xplode head unit & I would love to replace it with the stock head unit. We have wheel controls but can't use them due to the Sony head unit. Sony used to be nice, but now the crap xplodes in the factory and they sell it under that name. I am having trouble locating a stock head unit for my truck, and after reading this thread I can understand why. Any info on where to go look for one? Thx in advance.

I have wasted lots of money on car speakers/subs/HUs in other vehicles. I keep telling myself that I am happy with the stock JBL. I am actually fairly impressed with it tho.

I have this same thing going on, other than that sound is good. My one gripe is I cannot charge/control my iPod through the HU.

I listened to both, and opted to get the cheapy system, ripped it all out and installed a new head, amp,4 speakers, all new wire, sound deadening and small powered sub for under $1000. It sounds SOOOO much better than the JBL, BUT it was like a 16 hour install for me.
Pick your battles. It was worth it to me,but may not be for you.

I used cabinet door pads/ stopers.
The felt ones seem to work the best.

JBL hit a home run with this system......sounds great!!!

Yes, my aftermarket system in my Mustang sounds bigger, cleaner at high decibels and the J.L. stealthbox sub is insane......$7500.00 later wholesale........a great auto stereo with all the whistles and bells, highend......kills the JBL system.........

Would not do another system.......Toyota and JBL did a great job for a factory option....would I order it again?......hell ya, sounds great........if your into hip-hop music and all you want do is bump.....this system is not for you.....need more Subs....very well balanced system!!! Diggin it!!!

I just put a set of JBL speakers from my dad's 2008 Tundra to my 09 Tacoma DCSB. It was funny his front Speakers went in perfectly with my back speakers and then his back went in, with a little modification, in my front doors. Sounds great.
