General cleanup today... including washing the engine by with some engine bay degreaser and a water hose with very low pressure.

Then, got in the truck to make an errand, drove fine for a couple hundred feet and all of a sudden died on me. Tried to turn it back on and absolutely nothing happened when I turned on the key. The lights won't turn on at all, the electric door locks don't work, nothing electrical. Even thought they were tight I disconnected the battery lines, cleaned the terminals, and re-connected. Still nothing. All fuses looked good and nothing is disconnected as far as I can tell, and the battery is pulling more than 13 volts. I'm stumped! Is there some sort of main switch in the cab that shuts of power??? Did I ruin something when I cleaned the engine bay?

since I have an automatic, I had to disconnect the shifting linkage and shift the tranny into neutral at the transmission since the shifter is stuck in park, to push it back home.

Figured i'd post in here, first, to see if anyone had suggestions before I start a thread.

 

I freely admit I'm a total dumbass... but did you cover the alternator when you hosed down your engine and, if not, would that have the affect you're experiencing?

 

Finished up installing the new battery tray and made a carrier for the jerry cans

 

Played around with some plasti dip

 

That welder is gonna make you broke haha

I asked andy, he said his first guess is you blew a main 80/100 amp fuse in the fuse box.

 

He said fuses where fine.

But would make sense.

 

I finally get a glimpse into your garage.

Like the carrier. Are you going to install it in the bed or affix it to your bumper?

Can't hurt Silas. Would make sense as all power for the entire cab and ecu runs through that fuse.

I'll have to grab a pic of the cab right now... I kinda cut the jump seat section in half. I wanted to make a large storage area, but after I cut everything up I realized I wasn't sure what I want to put there haha

 

Looks good but I like my wood grain better
