TACK, I can't thank you enough. This 'creaking' has been driving me nuts! A little white lithium grease squeezed up in the area where the plastic pedal assy contacts the pushrod and the creak is gone

    Damn.

    42,000 and it's creaking again.

10,000 miles since "adjustment" from Toyota (under Warranty) stopped it.

So glad I found this! The clutch peddle noise was driving me nuts! After getting the TSB done and a whole bunch of WD40 and it still made the noise I thought I'd just have to live with it. Found this and turned that push rod by hand and it's been sweet silence ever since. Love it! THANK YOU!

lol, thanks, hand tightened the nut and haven't heard a thing for a week. I could live with it, but couldn't live with my wife bitching about it. XD

I have this same issue with my '07 Tacoma. My noise comes from inside the bell housing. On mine, the rubber boot which the clutch fork passes through has little holes in it. I insert the nozzle from a can of WD 40 and squirt it in there. The squeak stops immediately. So, its got something to do with the clutch fork pivot inside the bell housing. The problem is the fix only lasts about 2,000 miles. I'm going to try the spray lithium grease as a prior poster suggested. maybe that will last a little longer.

sorry to bring this back from the dead, but i wanted to sub this for future reference. and this worked for my dads 05 tacoma. my girlfriend couldnt stand it so i needed to find a solution. once again, tacomaworld came to the rescue.

I got both squeaks going on, inside and outside. bought a can of lithium grease and applied grease on the pivot points, spring, and where the rod goes in. the inside squeak is gone for now. the outside one isnt as bad and isnt noticeable for her.

I just now tightened the push rod that goes into the master cylinder . . . gave it a 1/4 counter-clockwise turn before I couldn't turn it anymore with my fingers. Squeak went away. I then pumped the clutch pedal a few times, went back to check the rod, and found I could turn it again about 1/8 of a turn. We'll see how this holds up over time.

First day we've had above 60 degrees and my clutch started doing this around lunchtime. I have 1,362 miles...

I flipped myself over and lubed where I thought it was coming from (for some reason I have Honda Shin-Etsu grease sitting around?) but that didn't do it.

Guess I'll have to go out again and try turning the bolt and getting ahold of some white lithium. I don't always listen to the radio and it was driving me NUTS.

I've been dealing with the same problem with my 06. I've had the TSB done and that only helped for a couple weeks. It got to the point where I was turning the push rod every time I got in the truck. I took the truck back into the dealership a couple times and they didn't know what was going on. But then we found the part of the TSB about applying grease where the clutch and master cylinder clevis and clutch pedal meet. It's the spot the arrow is pointing to in the pic. We packed that "hole" full of grease and I've been squeak free for about 6 months now. I'm curious how it's going to act in the warmer months when the squeak was the loudest but so far so good. :D

Just tried hand tightening the push rod, turned about a quarter turn, pushed in the clutch pedal and it immediately rotated back to where it started. Will try tightening with an open end wrench when I get home. How tight is too tight??

Here is another guy with the creaking/loose clutch pedal issue.

I actually had the TSB done about 1.5 years ago. For a while, the clutch pedal didn't make a sound, but it was still loose like in the previous videos.

The creaking sound came back about a week ago. Today, I sprayed white lithium grease in the exact spot that was indicated in a previous picture. That seemed to help for about an hour.

However, after about an hour of driving, I found that the problem actually got worse. I can now feel my clutch pedal snagging as I am slowly engaging it to take off from a stop. If I am making quicker shifts while moving, I don't have any problems.

Is there another grease that would be better suited to this task? I don't have any faith in my dealership anymore. When my lease is done in two years, I am getting rid of this truck.

I used white lithium grease as well but the "barn door" clutch noise came back after a couple days. I went and picked up some MP (multi-purpose) grease from the auto store. This worked SO much better. Get quarter sized pile of grease on a piece of cardboard and then use a popsicle stick (or something similar) to get the grease up where the clevis meets the clutch pedal. There is a little plastic bowl where the clevis meets the pedal, pack that bowl full of that MP grease. My clutch was driving me insane with that noise but I did this about 2 months ago and haven't heard a noise since. After trying a ton of stuff for months, this has helped the most by far.

If you are finding that your clutch assembly is loose, I highly recommend you get under there and tighten up the loose nut before it pops off. It is much easier to tighten it than to re assemble it....ask me how I know...

Mine squeaked when it was loose/loosening FWIW

Which nut are you referring to?

On another note, I found that a tube of dry graphite or an aerosol can of quick dry graphite with a straw worked great. Hopefully it will last.

The one that keeps the long bolt holding on your clutch pedal. It sits up at the top of the pedal under the dash. I used to have issues with it loosening. Creaking and lateral play was the first sign it was loosening.

This may not be the issue for you, but it most definitely was for me

I just sprayed white litium grease on the picture duffman posted and the noise went away immediately.
The area was already coated in grease, but apparently it rubbed off where it was needed.
