i dont think you "need" new UCAs until you cross the 2.5" threshold.

Same boat I'm in need of a lift kit. I need to be able to run a 275/65/18 and still turn tow and haul. I do ALOT of driving. Like 25k+ a year, 75% highway but when I'm working in the city it gets worked hard. Hauling stone, lumber, tools, whatever. It's my work truck and my play truck. So someone please tell me what the most driveable lift is. For a once or twice a year off roader. What's the "working mans" lift kit?

Very nice looking kulasipay. I have been waiting for very long time to put a lift on my truck. Think I want to stay under 3" so I don't have to get new uca's. What uca's did you go with, and if you don't mind what was the cost of your lift? Did you do the install, if not what's that going to cost to have it done. Thanks for the pics.

Did this get you a 2 1/2 inch lift? I would consider this if it keeps me from new diff drop and uca's. I was under the impression this was the point you would have to do all this.

Is there a lift that will get you exactly 2"? I've read several post on how to get 1.75
Because a quarter of an inch can make all the difference sometimes ;)

You don't "have" to get uca's. it's just that as you go higher, it's harder to get your alignment in spec. Around 2.5" is when it could or could not get in spec. Depends on the alignment tech too.

I know this is an old post, but what did you finally choose. I"m in the same boat can't decide between the two really. I don't do much off roading like a lot of guys here so a 2.5" lift would be perfect.

    someone let me know please.

Not sure who you where asking Twinkie, but I just bought the Ironman lift from Toytec.
Its on sale, right now for $389.
They say I should get 2" out of it.

oh nice man. post some pics when you get that thing installed. I was looking for a 2.5-3 inch lift. Was leaning towards an OME w/ dakar leaf packs or 2" AAL's and an LR UCA.

Let me know how your's turns out

I figured I might as well ask here. Planning on going with a OME Lift Kit from Toytec. Currently have blocks and they suck. Give you a headache if you hit a crack from your teeth chattering. Anyway, I ordered my sliders from BAMF. The shipping weight is 200lbs, should I get the 885 springs? Hope to install it before the sliders get here...in five months.

Thanks for all the info in this thread and others, it's what helped me make my call. Not trying to thread jack, sorry if it appears that way.

Depends what other armor you plan on putting on. The sliders are not lightweight, they do add some weight, which is why YotaDan told me to use 887 coils (5mm longer but same coil rate as 885- they are 4Runner coils) so that I would get my full 2.5-3". Plus I told him I was going to put on a skid plate too. But he advised against getting 886x coils unless I was going with an aftermarket bumper because he said it would be too stiff a ride. Just my 2 cents. I love my set up 5100/887 with BAMF sliders.
