Why did you cut the rear wall trim in half?

And you should seal that cubby up with raammat and put a subwoofer in there.

I think it would look real good the whole interior like that

painted black? should I put a clear coat on, flat black may be to dull. I could probably do this as a free mod, being that it feels like it's limping :( and the wallet will be hurt after repairs lol

Or make a custom box to fit in the area behind the driver's seat. Could make it flat on top with a downfiring sub to use the top for putting stuff on...

Naw... the battery is charged up just fine. the water does have a potential to damage the alternator though...

    Probably.. :(
That was my second guess after thinking the battery came unconnected... I checked them all but I guess I don't really know how to check the big ones.. I just thought I'd see something obvious if one of those ones blew.:anonymous:
Thanks, man. (and tell andy thanks) I'll test them in the morn and see what I find. It has got to be that...

    This^

I think you can hear engine/road noise a little more, but I like hearing what the engine is doing anyway. Easier to keep clean. I kinda took it a step further and covered all the wiring and sensors with silicone so I can just wash it out if I want to. There's already drain holes/plugs in the floor

This is nonesense. It all depends on what temperature range thermostat you have.

FWIW, mine has always run in the 200-205 range. Seems normal and has never had a problem in the 90K miles I've had it. The t stat was replaced and all new coolant and hoses when the waterpump and timing belt were changed about 40K ago. Running temps were the same before and after.

Tacomas that run in the 190s and lower have a lower tempurature t-stat.

    Somebody needs to be.

Adding a little undiluted coolant did not create a problem.

Well I have no idea if the previous owner changed thermostats, but it was owned in Nome (averages -5 degrees in the winter) for the first 6 years of its life. So maybe they changed it to a higher temp one? I mean I'm not getting the feeling the truck is overheating, but I don't remember the gauge ever reading above 206 before. And today is the first day I drove with the ultragauge plugged back in since Fall, and I see it hit 210. Just seems a bit odd is all.

Probably because of the SC on your dad's 2nd gen. I think it helps to reduce the chance for pre-detonation and leaning out with the SC.

What temp is your new dcab running at?

Been thinking more about a 1"-ish body lift to help (eventually) tuck the driveline. I'm sure it's probably easier/cheaper to do a kit, but what if I cut the mounts off and simply welded new ones a little higher? I'm thinking it would be safer/more stable. Your thoughts?
