I talked to him, he's finalizing it. It will have a fuse tap, where you unplug the fuse from your fuse block and plug this into, allowing ignition or all the time power depending on which slot you add it to.

Out of curiosity OP, does this camera geo-track?

 

So this is the hardwire kit, it just plugs into a fuse slot of your choice, and then add a fuse on the back of this. Ground the open terminal. Then just run the wire and plug it into this socket. $18 for the hardwire kit. Can also be used with other items as well, like Radar detectors. ( just need to make sure the fused source and the added fuse are enough )

 

just recorded this today. camry driver swears she had the green light. she was happy when she heard i had video recording of the accident and asked for a copy of it. until she heard me say "the rav4 had the green light". watch it in 720p. hard to see light on a phone, best to watch on the computer.

Aight so i finally installed this thing and my buddy has a 64g class 10 card that he uses in his camera so i figured id check out the recording quality of the camera until i got an sd card. Apparently a 64g will not work at all in this thing. I push in the sd card with the camera off and hit the power button and it shows the start up screen then shuts back off. I push in the sd card with the camera on and it immediately shuts the camera off. I went and got a 32g class 10 card and the camera works completely fine with this card in. Externally the cards are the same in size and the 64g fits the camera the same. So why wont a 64g work in this camera?

So if you drove for 5 hours would you get clips that are 5 mins each or would it be one clip 5 hours long? I saw the OP said it can be set to intervals, but can you set no intervals? Anf if so, and you have 1 5 hour clip, when it starts to overwrite the previous video will it delete the 1st one and start a new one? Like #1 5hours, #2half that so only 2.5hours then it jumps back to the seconds half of video #1.
I dont want 5 min clips. I want 1 video. But i dont want the entire thing deleted until the SD card space is needed. Meh, i like it either way actually lol


How is the microphone on this? Can you add a corded mic to get exhaust sounds while the unit is in car? Or on my motorocycle to hide it behind the windscreen to sheild some wind noise.

do you offer a deal if one buyer buys more than one? I have 3 vehicles and would put two on my motorcycle.

Can this record straight to a lap top via the USB?

 

The OP stated on the first page that it takes up to a 32Gb SD card. It is likely a firmware/code limitation.

 

You have the choice of 2, 5 or 15 minute intervals, OR continuous recording. It will record in the interval you chose until the card is full and then start recording over the oldest file, unless you chose continuous mode, in which case it will stop when it's full. So, if you're in continuous mode whenever you shut the truck off, the recording stops. It will resume when you start the truck. You will have some number of files of varying duration depending on how often you stopped. When the card is full, recording ceases. You could insert another SD card or manually delete the earlier files using the menu screen. The microphone picks up background from the radio, some road noise, and any voices in the front seat. I leave the microphone on in case I need to describe what I'm seeing that may or may not be on camera (license plates, direction of travel, street signs, etc.) There is no external mic input. It cannot record to PC via USB. The only option is SD card, 32Gb max. When you connect the camera via USB, the computer recognizes it as external USB storage, allowing you to browse the contents of the SD card while simultaneously charging the battery. I am not the seller, just a happy customer. PM the OP to purchase.

 

I read that. And proved it to myself out of curiosity and was wondering why. I dont care that much cause the 32g works fine, just askin a question

 

Anybody have any wheeling vids using this, I'm stuck between this or a go pro but I prefer this since it seems a lot more simpler, but if it gets all shakey offroad then there's no point
