e locker switch

    i just got an 06 tacoma for my 16th birthday. when i put it into 4H or 4L i discovered the locker was activating by itself. I took off the switch, and found out it wanst even wired in. So i need a wiring diagram for the switch

    maybe you dont have a locker...look at the axle and see if it says 'lsd' on it

    do you know if you have a TRD Off Road?

    Also, you may have one of those weird lockers that activates by itself. I've heard of those being installed aftermarket from like 4wheelparts and they're kind of sketchy.

    I do have a locker beacause the first day i got it i went to a parking lot put it into 4, turned the steering wheel all the way and when i started driving the back wheel was hopping

    Yes that is going to happen locker or not it's the wheel with the least traction.

    This will happen because it is in 4wd while turning. By having it in 4wd your asking all 4 tires to spin at the same rate while turning and that is impossible (unless your in snow or on a slippery surface). They are going to rotate at different speeds causing the drivetrain and tires to bind, causing it to 'hop'.

    Now if it were in 2wd while turning and the rear tires were 'hopping', then you would be able to say the rear is locked for sure.

    The e locker doesn't engage in 2wd. Later today ill check if it says LSD

    OP, your profile says regular cab? You don't have a factory e-locker. You will have driveline binding if you engage 4wd on pavement.

    Yes I know. I was just making the point that the only way you could tell it had a locker from the wheels hopping was if it was in 2wd.

    Ok, i dont have a locker. Sorry everyone. But what is that switch there for? And would it be possible to install a factory e locker?
